INTRODUCTION

The Background of the Study

The common causes of damage in gasoline engine are the oil pump failure. A failing oil

pump can cause what’s called oil starvation , which is almost always fatal to any engine. There

are also other causes to damage the gasoline engines are the dirty oil, broken or faulty oxygen

sensor, poor compression, coolant loss, clogged radiator, worn spark-plug, loose or missing gas

cap.(Bob Greco, 2014)

Most engine block destruction like above usually starts with piston failing, if left on

checked the piston can shatter (or first size then shatter) learning the connecting rod hitting the

sides of the block, shattering the sidewalls like above. (Mike Trontatore, 2015)

In most vehicle these diagnosotic codes will remain in memory for fifty engine cycles.

If the problem does not occur, the codes will be crased by the computer. Steer clear of mechanic

or stop that replaces parts without doing the proper diagnostic first. Checking the computer codes

first is important because it may lead you to the rough running problem. And this is what you

should expect a competent mechanic to do if you present them with this kind of problem. ()

Statement of the Problem

This study identified the Perception of automechanics on the commoncauses of damage

in automobile bothgases and diesel engine.

Specially, this sought to answer the following question:

1. What are the effect of the engine if there is an damaged?

2. What are the solutions to prevent the damages in gasoline engine and diesel engine?

3. Is there a significance relation between the gasoline and diesel engine?

Significance of the Study

This study indicates the information to all future researcher, students, who are taking the

course about the automotive industry and of course the readers to have an information to the

future researchers, student and readers.

New researchers and readers can get a benefit by reading our research, because our topic

can give them a new knowledge.

Students- They are the secondary high school from grade XI to and become beneficial to the

students.

Auto mechanics- They are the professional auto-mechanic from Tacloban City.

Theoretical/Conceptual Framework of the Study

Natural Gas(NG) accounts for about 25% percent a all energy use in United State yet

only 0.1 percent is used in transportation government and academia. To better what this potential

mean for the united states and its energy future, the national research councils (NRC’s) board on

energy and environmental system (BEES). (Sep.11,2012)

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This study focused on the perception of automechanics on the common causes of damage

in automobile both gases and diesel engine. The study survey gases process will start on

Oct.17,2017 up to Oct.19,2017 at Tacloban City Down Town area with approximately surveying

period.
Definition of Terms

The following terms are identified are define to give a clear understanding on its

technical meaning conceptual and operationally.

Coolant. It is a usually fluid cooling agent. In this study a liquid is used to cool an engine or

machine

Diesel. An internal combustion engine in which heat produced by the compression of air in the

cylinder is used to ignite the fuel. In this study, a heavy petroleum fraction used as fuel in diesel

engines.

Gases. A gas or a mixture of gases that is burned as a fuel. In this study, it is creating an power

or to put in a car.

Loose(Gas Caps)- A loose damaged or missing gas caps means gas is evaporating. In this study,

for being loosing gas cap are harmful to the environment and loosing money.

Pump. A device that raises, transfers, delivers or compresses fluid or that attenuates gases

especially by pressure or both or the process of pumping an energy.

Piston. A sliding piece moved by or moving against fluid pressure which usually consist of a

short cylindrical body filling within cylindrical.

Radiator. A device that is used to keep the engine of a car to not getting to hot.

Spark-plug. A part of an engine that produces a spark that makes the fuel burn. In this study, it

is a part fits on cylinder head of an internal combustion engine and carries two electrodes.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

This Chapter deals with the literature which give enrichment to the background of the

study. Most of the information discussed were taken from books, journal, and unpublished

materials. The information presented in this chapter is a huge help for the researchers to come up

with the current and reliable data through intensive reading.

Related Literature

The common causes of damage in gasoline engine are the oil pump failure. A failing oil

pump can cause what’s called oil starvation , which is almost always fatal to any engine. There

are also other causes to damage the gasoline engines are the dirty oil, broken or faulty oxygen

sensor, poor compression, coolant loss, clogged radiator, worn spark-plug, loose or missing gas

cap.(end note)

Most engine block destruction like above usually starts with piston failing. If left

unchecked, the piston can shatter (or first seize then shatter), leaving the connecting rod litting

the sides of the block, shattering the sidewall like above.(Mike Trumbature,2015)

Diesel and gasoline engines are the major sources of power used in motor vehicles. Both

are internal combustion engines but differ fundamentally in terms of their fuel–air mixture

preparation and ignition, and the fuels they use: diesel fuel is composed of petroleum fractions

with a higher boiling range than those of gasoline.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This description of this study design employed in modification of data gathering, it’s

analysis and interpretation.

Research Design

This is an qualitative research designed to determine the “Perception of auto-mechanics

on the common causes of damage in both gases and diesel engine.

Research Locale

This qualitative process of the Perception of auto-mechanics on the common causes of

damage in both gases and diesel engine at Tacloban City.

Research Respondent

There are randomly selected respondent. There will be 30 auto-mechanics in downtown

area in Tacloban City

Material and Equipments

The material and equipment used in this study are:

 Survey Questionnaire

 Ball pen

 Camera

Data Gathering Techniques

The researchers conducted on Questionnaire Survey for a period of days. Sampling and

recording was undertaken to determine the results in terms of effects. The date gathered during

sampling were recorded and tabulated.

a. Getting the basic information about the respondents.

b. Asking them about on how fuel prices and common vehicles problems in Tacloban

City.
c. Giving them a especial treatment, so that they are comfortable to answer our

questionnaire

Statistical Treatment

In this study the statistical tool used are the arithmetic mean.

The following formulas are indicated as follows:

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter deals on the presentation, analysis and interpretation of gathered data based

on the result of the study. The discussion focuses in determining the acceptability of.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter deals with the summary, findings, conclusions and recommendation of the

study.

SUMMARY

Perception of aeromechanics on the common causes of damage in both gasoline and

diesel engine.

Specially, it sought to answer the following questions.

1. What are the effects to the engine if there is a damaged?

2. What are the solutions to prevent the damages in a gasoline and diesel engine?

3. Is their a significant relations between the gasoline and diesel engine?

This study tested the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference on the

Perception of auto-mechanics on the common causes of damage in automobile both

gasoline and diesel engine.

FINDINGS

The result of the study revealed the following.

1. Perception of aeromechanics on the common causes of damage in both gasoline and

diesel engine rate of.

2. Based on our interpretation that we have showed the gasoline engine was the more

perception that telling that it is the easily to damage, but in different ways of using the

automobile.

CONCLUSIONS

Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that the Perception of aeromechanics

on the common causes of damage in both gasoline and diesel engine is very hard to determining

the type of engine that is easily to worn out.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Based on the study and conclusions, the following recommendation are necessary.

1. It is recommended that gasoline engine and diesel engine used in automobile are both

experiencing damage but it relays on the user of the automobile.
