Fast Food Calories: The House voted, 266


Y Y Y N -157, to shelve a Food and Drug
Administration rule that restaurant chains of
20 or more outlets post nutrition data
including calorie counts on menu boards. A
yes vote was to pass HR 772, which would
kill a menu rule due to take effect in May.
Easing of Mortgage Rule: The House voted,
Y O Y Y 280-131, to relax a federal rule intended to
curb predatory home-lending practices such
as those linked to the 2008-2009 financial
crisis. A yes vote was to pass HR 1153,
which backers said would enable community
banks to expand home ownership.
Remarks by Arizona Congressman: The
Y Y N N House blocked, 231-187, a bid by Democrats
to force debate on a measure condemning
Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., for having called for
Capitol police to arrest “dreamers” attending
the State of the Union address as guests of
Democratic members.
Two-Year Budget Deal: The House passed,
Y Y N Y 240-186, a budget that would boost military
and non-military spending by at least $300
billion over two years while adding a
projected $320 billion to annual deficits over
10 years. A yes vote was to send the bill (HR
1892) to President Trump.

Y Y 71-28, a bill that would boost discretionary
spending by at least $300 billion over two
years for the military and domestic programs
such as education, health care and
transportation. A yes vote was to send the bill

The Senate will conduct votes on the legal status of the undocumented
young immigrants known as “dreamers” in the week of Feb. 12, while the
