Installation
The installation is fairly simple, as is any aircraft for X-Plane.
Extract / Copy all content from the downloaded file to your desired folder,
for example: Aircraft/Helicopters/Dreamfoil_B407

DO NOT MOVE ANY FILES FROM THE AIRCRAFT FOLDER, PLUGINS

SHOULD STAY IN THE B407 PLUGINS FOLDER!

Requires X-Plane 10.25+ in order to run properly, X-Plane is software in constant

development and we can't guarantee that all systems will run in newer versions of X-Plane,
so please make a backup of your oldest working version, before upgrading X-Plane.

WARNING FOR WINDOWS USERS

The DreamEngine requires Open-AL drivers to be installed on your computer in order to
run on Windows. The latest version of drivers can be found on link below:
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal
If you use Windows Vista or higher it may come with your system by default, so discard this
advice.

Performance
This helicopter features a highly detailed 3D model and greatly improved
technology. It´s important to bear in mind that this aircraft will place greater
demands on your hardware than default aircraft.

To achieve greater FPS (frames per second), you can disable HDR Rendering in
Rendering Options, this will dramatically improve your fps.

Minimal System Requirements

A Core Duo 2Ghz processor +
1.0 GB RAM
A Geforce 8800gtx or equivalent
120 MB hard drive space
Page 04

Helicopter Controls
Cyclic
Cyclic
The Cyclic is used to control helicopter attitude, moving it forward will pitch
the nose down, moving aft will pitch it up. Move it left to roll aircraft to the left
and right to roll to the right.

Remember that all cyclic inputs should be done smoothly, large and aggressive
movements are not necessary!

Pedals
Pedals
The pedals are used mainly to counteract the torque produced by the main
rotor, but they are also used to maintain heading whilst at low speeds.

Collective &
Collective & Twist
Twist Throttle
Throttle
The collective is used to collectively change the pitch of main rotor blades,
thus increasing lift. It´s used to change the helicopter altitude. However you
must remember to keep TRQ, MGT and NG within limits, as shown on the
panel.

The twist throttle on the collective lever is used to switch between Idle and
Flight. This sets the Main Rotor (NR) RPM for each position, and the RPM is
then maintained automatically by the FADEC.

Click to reset cyclic trim positions.

Cyclic Trim
Cyclic Trim
The Bell 407 is equipped with a cyclic trim system.

It works like a re-centering system, you must assign the command

'B407/flight_controls/force_trim' to a joystick button, then once you press
and hold the button you can move the cyclic back to center and release the
button. While moving with force_trim pressed, the swashplate will not move,
allowing the re-positioning of the cyclic without affecting aircraft attitude.

To reset the trim system the command 'B407/flight_controls/trim_release' is

available, just press this command and it will automatically set Pitch and Roll
trims to center position removing any offset, be careful while using this
inflight.

Commands available for Trim

B407/flight_controls/force_trim - Force Trim to new position
B407/flight_controls/trim_release - Release/Recenter Trim
sim/flight_controls/aileron_trim_left - Trim to Left

The Airspeed Actuated Pedal Stop will restrict left pedal range of travel by -25% when airspeed is greater than 55 KIAS and
will restore full pedal authority when airspeed falls below 50 KIAS.

This systems prevents the tail rotor from achieving a maximum flapping condition where it would enter in contact the
vertical stabilizer causing a catastrophic failure of the tail rotor and vertical stabilizer.

FADEC
Equipped with a Full-Authority Digital Electronic Control, Bell 407 is capable of almost fully automatic start.

The system control fuel flow to keep TRQ and MGT inside of normal operating limits, reducing the workload of pilot during
the start-up process. Bell 407 can be operated in AUTO or MAN mode, the
switch is located on left side of Fuel Valve.

Pilot must have the knowledge that FADEC operation in MAN is prohibited,
it shall be used only for training or emergency.

AUTO MODE
AUTO MODE
In this mode FADEC will take care of start-up process, throttle must be
placed at idle during the procedure, the system will automatically control
fuel flow to keep MGT inside of it's limits, pilot still look for any
exceedance and abort start if necessary.

After start has been achieved throttle will control NR rpm from idle to Full
RPM, during spool up FADEC will also limit TRQ to avoid excessive TRQ at
ground.

MAN MODE
MAN MODE
In this mode FADEC will be disabled and fuel control should be done
manually during start-up process and flight, during start throttle must be
on cutoff position before reaching 12% NG, pilot should then monitor
MGT and abort if exceedance is about to occur.

After start has been achieved throttle will control NG and no governing of
NR will be available so it's up to pilot to manually
