1. I identified problems and developed aims, goals and objectives, mostly

during the first part, since I had to plan my project and analyze what where
the things needed in order to complete it. Problems and disadvantages
were usually identified in reflections, and small targets with a list of actions
were set in order to solve them. Aims and goals during the project were
challenging, and they inspired me often.

2. I had to consider all alternatives, since I had a broad selection of websites

and source I could look into, I had to consider them fairly and evaluate
critically which one´s to use. I also had to consider different perspective
when regarding methods on how to be able to produce my product, and
by observing other ideas, I developed my own creatively, influenced
deeply by a series of alternatives.

3. I made decisions all throughout my project I had to take decision, because

there were many occasions in which I had to choose what path to take,
meaning: when to do things, in which order, how to do them and where to
do them. I had many options regarding, the methods and materials I could
use, but also a large number of sources. I finally had to decide between this,
by using the best of my knowledge and with strong arguments.

4. I found information in different media. Although I used mostly webpages,

they were varied, regarding the scientist or institution that had published
them, and they also regarded information from deferent perspectives, or
analyzed diverse pieces of information. However, I also used interviews and
a lot of observation, completing my research with a lot of different media.

5. I located, analyzed, organized, synthesized, evaluated and effectively used

information. I consistently used this skill throughout my research, to be able
to write good summaries which guided me to select many of the things for
my final product, but that also provided analyzed and synthesized
knowledge for myself and for other who may read the project.

6. I kept to class schedules and project deadlines. I had everything done on

time, and I even made my own deadlines and plans, for my realization to
be more effective.

7. I demonstrated persistence and perseverance. I used this skill, because truly

it was a long process, and I had to dedicate lots of time and energy,
encouraging myself during the process to be able to finish it.

8. I had to pause and reflect at different stages, this was demonstrated

throughout the whole process, because I had to reflect on every piece of
information or planning I did. This skill helped me improve other skills, solve
problems organize myself, and improve as a person in general.

9. I had to make decisions based on fairness and equality. I applied this skill
mostly during the planning stages, because I tried to make decisions basing
myself on scientific arguments. This way I believe my judgment was fair and
equal, because I evaluated the information and options critically.

10. I made effective notes. I really used this skills during the research, and it
helped me organize and summarize information, so that I could skim the
things that were more useful for my project, out of a broad quantity of
information.

11. Formulated provocative and relevant questions and goals I used this skill in
the beginning when selecting my goal and inquiry question. I believe my
goal was challenging and significant, and my inquiry questions useful for
guiding my research.
12. I had to make intuitive judgments I used this skill when planning my project,
because I had to select materials and methods basing myself on my
knowledge, and the conclusions I could draw from it.

13. I tried to apply skills and knowledge in unfamiliar situations. I used this skill
mostly in the planning ad production part, since I had to to proceed and
select using my own skills and previous knowledge. Perhaps things did not
go perfectly always, but I enjoyed taking the risk and learning from my won
mistakes.

14. I read a variety of sources for information and for pleasure Given that the
topic is quite complex, and investigations on it are still being carried out, I
had to read a lot of different articles written by different scientist from
distinct institutions, to earn a good knowledge and overview. I enjoyed it
because the topic is of my interest, and I even produced more questions
throughout the process.

15. I evaluated and selected information sources and digital tools based on
their appropriateness to specific tasks. I was critical evaluating sources, by
using four parameters. I also selected information for a specific question, but
it could frequently address more than one.

16. I arrived to class with appropriate equipment I always had everything I

needed for both class and personal project. This skill helped me become
more organized.

17. I practiced focus and concentration to overcome distractions. We live on a

modern society where there is always something to do, and there is a
number of technological distractions. I had to apply this skill to be able to
work efficiently. Setting deadlines for myself helped me use this skill.

18. I was aware of areas of perceived limitations. since the beginning of my

project, and once I had identified my weaknesses, I did my best to
strengthen them in the past few months.

19. I helped others. I did this by sharing my knowledge with other classmates so
that they could make their project more efficiently.
20. I used active listening techniques to understand others, I used this skill during
the interviews I had, in order to be able to understand. I also used it during
the meetings with my supervisor, to receive significant feedback.

21. I had to consider ideas from other perspectives and points of view. I
definitely had to use this skill in order to gather information and produce my
product. This, because I had tic onside information and ideas from a
scientific point of view, but also a social and environmental, by considering
the repercussion it may have had, and economic one, by considering the
budget I had.

22. I transferred and applied existing knowledge to generate new ideas,

products or processes. I definitely applied this skill during the planning and
production, because I had to make choices basing by myself on arguments
produced from my knowledge and investigation. This way, the best quality
possible was achieved in the product.

23. I created projects and products using knowledge and skills gained across
different subject areas. I believe this skill was key for me, because I
proposed myself a challenging goal, basing myself on knowledge I had
acquired in Scholl, in relation to the problem being addressed. Also, this skill
helped me develop the ideas for my final product.

24. I accessed information to be informed and inform others. All the information
I gathered makes part of my personal learning process. I believe my
research as a whole informed of really interesting things in a variety of
subject. I often share my experience with others who are interested, and
was happy to teach some of my teachers, some things they did not know.

25. I used and interpreted a range of concept specific terminology. Since the
project was very scientific, I had to use a lot of technical language,
specially in the subject of polymer science, organic chemistry, and physics. I
often had to search for definitions, ad this helped me increase my learning.

26. I found and selected information via different media. I used this skill because
of the fact that I used a variety of web ages and articles, but I also
conducted interviews and experiments.
27. I practiced positive thinking. I practiced this skill during the moments that I
felt frustrated, it helped me continue working with a good attitude. Know I
apply this skill to my life often.

28. developed awareness of the processes of effective learning. During my

research project I could identify in which ways I learned better. I could
identify that I understand very well b watching videos, and reading articles,
but I´m not very good with graphs.

29. I negotiated goals and limitations with peers and teachers. I applied this skill
when comparing my work with my classmates. We arranged similar delaines
to support each other during the process. I also applied it with my
supervisor, to discuss my limitations and the goal of my project.

30. I had to use structural planners for different academic tasks. I used this skill
mostly at the beginning for brainstorming and producing an action plan for
my project.

31. I had to make inferences and draw conclusions. I had to use this skill mostly
during the planning stage, because with the research I had gathered, I had
to select the polymer I would use, drawing conclusions and inferring from
this background information.

32. I practiced my flexible thinking, I had to practice this skill, because

sometimes a number of the equipment’s I needed to perform tests and
experiments could not be used because of lack of availability or resources.
Therefore, I had to be flexible, and find other methods to be able to perform
my tests, even if they were not as good.

33. I inquired in different contexts and gained different perspectives. I

developed this skill during my process, and I believe it was very useful for the
planning stage, because with the knowledge I had to gathered, I was able
to evaluate my options with different perspective, and off course in different
acquired contexts like the environmental, chemical and physical.
34. 32.I read critically for information. This allowed me to be skeptical towards
information. I was able to skim strictly the necessary, but also to mea
connections between the information. I was also very evaluative towards
the validity of the source and it´s information, by comparing the information
of source frequently.

35. I had to identify different points of view. I had to do this when researching,
because I read different studies and articles, which were written by different
people and institutions. Although arguments where mostly based
unscientific data, the point of view of a scientist, did infer on how, he/she
interpreted the data.

36. I set appropriate management goals and plan strengths to achieve them. I
did this on the very beginning, since I selected 10 skills that I felt I needed
and performed weakly. I wrote a plan to develop them throughout 8 – 10
weeks, and recorded my progress.

37. Seek out criticism and feedback from others and make informed choices
about including it in one’s work. I used this skill because I played lets of
attention in my supervisor´s meetings. Also, I often asked other teachers and
students for their help, and tried to include their comments in my work,
without taking out the essence of the work I had performed.

38. I sought out constructive criticism. I did this by asking fro comment from my
supervisor, my peers and other teachers. This helped me improve my work in
aspects I consider are not my strengths like reflection and aesthetic display.
This way I believe my work improved.

39. I took responsibility for my own actions. Throughout the process I made
mistakes and errors, also missed deadlines sometimes. However, I was
honest with myself and other when spacing about my actions, and this
helped me grow as a person and made my work and learning much more
efficient.

40. I gave and received appropriate feedback. I used this skill mostly with my
friends. This occurred, because since all of us wren doing the personal
project, we produced constructive comments on each other´s work, for
each and everyone one of us to improve the work.
41. I had to identify obstacles and challenges, I had to do this throughout the
project to be able to be able to find other ways to achieve the same
objective I had in the beginning. I believe I used this skill the most during the
product, since I had lots of challenges to test and produce the product,
and I had to change my plan to achieve what I wanted.

42. I generated impossible ideas, because when planning my product, I had

great ideas about changing the chemical structure oaf certain plastic to
alter the properties. This indeed was impossible because of the resources I
posses, however, it may be an idea for improving my product in the future.

43. . I made connections between subjects learned in different fields of

investigation. I did this mostly ruing research and planning. It was key for me
to connect the synthesis of a large amount of information, since that would
bring me the final ideas for my product. For example, I had to observe how
the manufacturing of plastic, could affect it´s possibility to have good
mechanical properties when put into a composite.

44. I utilized different media to gain perspective. I used this skill during my
investigation. Since the project was trnasdsciplinary, I gathered information
to evaluate ideas from environmental, scientifically and economic
perspectives. I also read different interpretations f the same information,
and this way I obtained the perspective of different scientists.

45. . I practiced safe, legal and responsible use of information technology. I did
this by citrating, and making a bibliography. This way I gave recognition to
the author that provided me the information.

46. I planned strategies to guide my personal project inquiry. I did this with an
action plan, it helped me have a balanced and interactive learning
experience, where the knowledge was trans disciplinary.

47. Practice strategies to reduce stress and anxiety. I did this by having a
balance. I did not only work, but combined it with leisure time, exercise and
a balanced nutrition.
48. I kept a reflective journal of personal learning experiences focused on both
process and content. This skill really helped me during my process. I
reflected over the learning and content I published in my process journal, I
believe this made me more critical, and also aware of the importance of
some learning experiences.

49. I understand when and how to build consensus. I understand the subject I
studied was a complex one, however, I believe consensus may be built in
every single one, by addressing the person in the way that engages them,
teaching interactively this way.

50. . I used a variety of media to present to an audience. This will be evidence

mostly during the showcase, because I will use a series of techniques
including visual, verbal, additive and interactive, to engage the audience.
