The organic machinery plant is composed of a conveyor system, a shredder, a mixer and a
pelletizer. The conveyor system will be linking the shredder to the mixer so that the mixing and shredding
processes can be done simultaneously. Physical, mechanical, chemical and aesthetic characteristics are
considered for the materials to be used for the fabrication. Based on the analysis, gathered results and its
discussion, the following are conclusions drawn from the carried out research: The pelletizing efficiency,
percentage recovery and overall capacity of the machine are factors affecting the performance of the
machine which were determined at three mesh sizes of 2, 4 and 6mm.

At 6mm mesh size, the results show the highest pelletizing efficiency of 76% where organic manure
carried out was found to have a carbon to nitrogen ration of about 30 and a pH value of 7. This indicates
that organic manure is rich in nutrient composition and is good for soil rejuvenation. Analysis found that
an increase in mesh size increases mass of the pellets, thus increases the pellet efficiency and the total
weight of manure being fed also increases.

Compared to the prototype to be developed, although it is focused on the importance of organic

fertilizer, this machine is designed to be used for the production of solid organic fertilizer while the project
which aim is to produce liquid organic fertilizer. This factor also means that the project to be developed has
no such part as a pelletizer but the process involves adding water to the substance in such manner that the
product of the machine will be in a form of liquid. Organic fertilizer in liquid form has the advantage as it
can be applied easier that of the solid (pellet).

Design and Fabrication of Organic Fertilizer Manufacturing Machine

The organic fertilizer manufacturing machine is a developed to produce organic fertilizer with low
cost to support farmers having financial problems. The process of this machine starts when the raw material
is fed into the hopper where is mixed with the stirrer. Afterwards, the mixture produced is passed down into
a large agitator vessel where it will standby for the next 24 hours for decomposition. During the 24-hour
duration, the stirrer is operated periodically. Later on, the solid leftovers (slurries) from the mixture is
separated from the remaining liquid in the vessel. The remaining mixture in liquid state is then used as the
fertilizer. This process is called filtration.

This machine also serves for some usual problems of most machines such as portability, space
requirement and bulkiness.

The prototype to be developed and this project’s aim and concept is quite similar. For some
purposes, the motorized organic fertilizer machine is developed of easier application of the concept of this
project. The prototype to be developed has an additional part where waste materials in such state (solid)
where it can be difficult to breakdown can be fed directly through the shredder where the raw material is
shredded into pieces and then fall directly to the agitator vessel. Filtration process can also be done easier
through a filter under the agitator vessel where liquid product can be directly extracted and used as fertilizer.
Use of machines for liquid manure aerating and mixing

The purpose of the research is due to its concern to the ecological aspects of liquid manure. Four
different samples of liquid manures are analyzed to have a better knowledge on the efficiency of a machine.
Two of these samples are taken from a pit without aerators while the other two are taken from a pit with
incorporated aerator. The result of the test done shows that dry matter content in the liquid manure has a
value not exceeding 5.05-5.74%. The sample taken from pit with incorporated aerator acquired the largest
amount of dry matter after 20 minutes of mixing.

These samples when tested on application was spread on the surface uniformly and easily flowed
off the plant to penetrate the ground to the roots faster. When sprinkled, the undesirable odor dramatically
decreased and pumping it through cistern is much easier as it does not contain clods. Aeration has a lower
cost compared to liquid manure mixing.

Aeration can be more economic to use if the aim is to improve the efficiency especially for the
easier application due to its faster penetration through the soil.
