Swami Sri Sudhananda Bharathiar endowed him with the title of “Asana” for his unrelenting pursuit of yogic
therapy for common ailments. This privileged title is passed down the generations. Dr.Asana Andiappan
established the Asana Andiappan Sundara Yoga and Natural Living Trust. This is a popular and immaculately run
yogic healing centre in South India that administers disease-specific therapy through a yogic discipline endorsed
by leading medical practitioners.
Dr. Asana Andiappan was awarded the Yogarathna (Jewel of Yoga) for his distinguished yogic achievements, and
has been especially commended for his approach to yoga in curing senility and dementia, and quite recently for
his immaculate research on yoga for a healthy heart. He obtained his Ph.D. in Yoga from the Medicinal Alternative
Institute in Sri Lanka, and is currently Honorary Professor of Yoga at various colleges in Tamil Nadu, including
Siddha Medical Colleges in Chennai and Palayamkkottai. Dr. Asana Andiappan also chairs Adhoc Yoga
Committees at well-established Universities.
Among other things, Dr. Andiappan is a long standing President of the Tamil Nadu State Yogasana Association. As
Vice President of the Indian Yoga Federation, he has organized over 10,000 yoga programs in India, Malaysia,
Singapore, and Sri Lanka, China, Hong Kong, Australia. He has also Participated in several yoga programs for the
world media, and successfully co-ordinated innumerable district, state, national and International level yoga
competitions in India.
As a successful yogic practitioner for over 70 years, Dr. Asana Andiappan's firm spiritual foundation is a beacon of
light to those in search of peace and good health. A recognized corporate trainer, he has customized yoga
practice modules for several high-powered government officials, senior executives, movie stars, and law
enforcement personnel.
Today, Dr. Asana Andiappan is the Founder and President of Asana Andiappan College of Yoga and Research
Centre, with more than twenty franchisee centers in South India that cater to clients, students, and teacher
trainees from all from all over the world. Dr.Asana Andiappan has trained and motivated hundreds of yoga
teachers around the world in the powerful and therapeutic techniques of Sage Thirumoolar.
Besides editing two monthly journals, Yoga Kalai and Asana with a combined circulation of over 100,000 copies,
Dr. Andiappan has published twenty five books on Yoga therapy and Naturopathy.
Dr. Asana Andiappan was recently recognized for his tremendous contribution to Yoga with the 2003 Gandhi
Award and Maharishi Patanjali National Award for Yoga by CCRYN, Govt. of India. A prestigious award in India, this
the first time someone has been acknowledged in the field of Yoga. Such recognition, along with the medical
validation of his research, the popularity of his televised yoga series around the world, and the many success

Yogananth Andiappan was born to India's renowned and respected Yoga Guru Dr. Asana
Andiappan, who explored the therapeutic benefits of Asanas on a scientific level, based on the
classical text of Thirumoolar's Thirumandiram. He started learning yoga under the watchful

eye of his Father and Guru at the tender age of two. He is the Secretary of Asana Andiappan
Yoga and Natural Living Development Trust.
Yogananth is extremely well qualified having received two diplomas (Yoga and Naturopathy,
Yogic Science and Education), a Bachelor and Masters in Yoga and Naturopathy as well as a
Post-Graduate Diploma from Dr. MGR University in Chennai, India. Yogananth's achievements
do not stop here as he is currently in the process of completing his Ph.D. thesis on 'The effect
of Yoga Therapy and Natural Diet on cancer patients’ as well as publishing a yoga encyclopedia
book of 3,000 yogasanas, which has never been published before. His dedication to the
practice of yoga has earned him many State, National and International Titles in yoga
Championships. He has also conducted numerous workshops and demonstrations all over the
world in countries such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and France. He
has written a book "Yoga for students' health" and is the editor of the International monthly
yoga magazine "ASANA". His recent high quality coffee table book, "Yoga from the Heart" is an
inspirational guide for yoga lovers and art lovers alike.
Today, Yogananth is also the Director of Yoga of Anahata Yoga, a luxurious professional yoga
studio in the heart of Central, Hong Kong. He is the pioneer of introducing a complete yoga
therapy series such as back care yoga, de- stress yoga, slimming yoga and Detox yoga, which
is new to Hong Kong. Anahata Yoga and International Yoga Academy are also running a
prestigious Yoga Teacher Training Course, which is accredited, by M.S. University, Tirunelveli
and Yoga Alliance - USA with Yogananth being the Course Director.
Yogananth's passion and mission in life is to spread the benefits of yoga to all those who are
interested and open to its philosophy. In addition, he wishes to continue his research on the

Kumari Lakshmi is currently completing her internship to be a
medical practitioner. She started learning yoga at the tender
age of two from Dr.Asana Andiappan and also one of the
founding pillars of Asana Andiappan Yoga Centre, She has
participated in numerous yoga competitions and won many
titles and championships in state level, national level and
international level yoga competitions. With her medical
professional background, she has conducted many yoga
research projects on the therapeutic benefits of yoga with
eminent doctors and with Dr.Asana Andiappan on effects of
Yoga therapy for heart disease, cancer as well as aids patients.
Besides her medical training, she has completed her post
graduate and master in yoga and is preparing to do her Ph.D
on "Effects of yoga therapy for pregnancy and easy labour".
She is now the chief executive officer of all the franchisee
centres of Asana Andiappan Yoga Centre in Tamil Nadu.

(I) Certificate in Yoga and Naturopathy (CYN)
This course is suitable for beginners and those who are looking to learn more about the basics
of yoga therapy, yoga origin, history and philosophy.
Eligibility : 8th Standard (Indian standard)
Duration : 6 months
Course type : Part time and weekend classes
(II) Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy (DYN)
This course is suitable for medical and para-medical students who would like to teach yoga in
hospitals, schools, colleges and other recreation clubs. More indepth knowledge on yoga
therapy and naturopathy will be covered in this course.

(III) Postgraduate Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy (PGDYN)
This course is suitable for serious yoga practitioners and those who are preparing to have a

(I) Bachelor degree in Yoga and Naturopathy (B.Sc)
This course is suitable for serious yoga practitioners, those who are looking for government
and career opportunities abroad in the field of yoga. A proper introduction to yoga therapy,
yoga teaching and natural therapy treatments will be taught in this course. Students will gain
experience in working directly with patients in our college and research centre.
Eligibility : 12th standard
(a direct 2nd year admission can be applied if the candidate has completed
12th standard and D.Y.N)

(II) Master degree in Yoga and Naturopathy (M.Sc)
This course is suitable for medical professionals, alternative medical practitioners, and
physiotherapists. Students can also try to pursue Ph.D in yoga research after completing this
course. This course will enhance the knowledge of yoga and provide more credential when
pursuing a career in yoga both locally and especially abroad. The course will also be very useful
if you plan to start your own yoga therapy.
