Senior Student Teaching Experience Fall 2017


Oak Tree Elementary School, Monroe Township, NJ
 Weekly 5 day field experience in a 2nd Grade General Education Classroom with 22 students
 Taught Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop lessons, enVision Math 2.0 lessons, along with science/ STEM, social
studies, and health lessons
 Utilized various classroom management skills- gaining student attention, allowing for brain breaks when necessary,
ensuring all students were focused
 Differentiated lesson plans based on the various needs of students within the classroom, such as struggling readers
 Incorporated technology into lessons when appropriate, such as use of a document camera, showing videos, and
having students use Chromebooks
 Actively participated in Back to School Night, and Response to Intervention meetings
 For Parent- Teacher Conferences, actively talked with parents about their child’s behavior and progress with certain

Junior Field Experience


Hopewell Elementary School: Hopewell, NJ Spring 2017
 Weekly 1.5 day field experience in a General Education Kindergarten Classroom with 20 students
o Taught 1 lesson per week for 8 weeks on varying subjects, such as math, using the Go Math curriculum,
literacy, incorporating the Readers and Writers’ Workshop model, and an anti-bullying lesson
 Co-created and taught a cohesive Social Studies unit on Community Helpers. This was taught over a two-week
period, where visits to the school happened daily
o Throughout the two- weeks, I also taught corresponding Reader’s Workshop lessons

Greenbrook Elementary School: Kendall Park, NJ Fall 2016


 Weekly 1 day field experience for 8 weeks in a General Education 2nd Grade Classroom with 20 students
 Taught one math lesson, implementing The South Brunswick Mathematics Program curriculum, which is aligned to
the NJ State Common Core Standards
o Taught students skip- counting by 2’s, 3’s, 5’s, and 10’s on a hundred’s chart, showing that patterns are
formed when skip counting
 Co- taught one science lesson, introducing the unit on Properties of Light
o Discussed with students what things produce light, and the difference between natural and artificial light
o Displayed to students how white light gets broken down into the colors of the rainbow by using a hands- on
approach
o Integrated technology by showing a video that further explained the properties of light

Cranbury Presbyterian Nursery School: 22 S. Main Street, Cranbury, NJ, 08512 Fall 2016
 Bi- weekly, half-day field experience in a General Education Pre- School, 3 year old, classroom with 8- 10 students
 Co- taught two lessons within the classroom
o Taught students safety and proper way to hold scissors and allowed students to cut different materials
o Reviewed with students how to count to 10, and allowed students to show their number recognition

Professional Experience

Mad Science of New Jersey- Ewing, NJ April 2016- Present


 After school program at various schools in the New Jersey/ Pennsylvania area
 Groups of 8- 20 students, ranging in ages from Kindergarten- 5th grade
 Fun, and enthusiastic teacher, implementing different science lessons once a week on varying topics, such as kitchen
chemistry, weather, science of toys, and simple machines

Camp Counselor: Featherbed Lane Day Camp- Clark, NJ Summers 2013- 2017
 Manage a group of 30 girls, ages 4-8
 Create games to play throughout the day, along with crafts for campers to make
 Get campers changed and ready for swim lessons, twice a day
 Bring them to and from daily activities, such as sports, and art
