7 Writing
You have just received this email from your penfriend. Read it carefully.
Dear Mary,
I’m so excited – I just had to write to you immediately. Guess where we’re going
for our Christmas holiday. I just can’t believe it but we’re going to Australia!! Isn’t
that absolutely fantastic? My parents have friends in Sydney so we’re flying to
Sydney first of all and then we’re hiring a car and driving up the coast to Cairns.
We’re going surfing and diving on the Great Barrier Reef.
We’re staying there for three weeks so I’ll have to miss one week of school, but I
don’t mind! I hope we see lots of kangaroos and koala bears. It’ll be really hot as
December is summer down there. I’ll have to take lots of photographs. I’ll write
to you every day – email is so great, isn’t it?
Write soon!
Lots of love
Christine
