Before joining AMWAY, Mee San was an
elementary school teacher, while Kok Joo
was a lawyer. Mee San decided to become an
AMWAY Business Owner on a part-time basis
in order to repay her parents, knowing that it
was unlikely that she would be able to realise
her dreams without making a career change.

Despite being inexperienced, Mee San was

inspired by her mentor who said, “This is
a risk-free business. The worse that can
happen is you will be back at square one and
you continue doing what you do right now.”

Mee San struggled at first as she did not get

much support. However, instead of getting
discouraged, she took the initiative to look
for a suitable meeting venue to increase her
knowledge. During the course of building
her AMWAY business, she also encountered
various challenges including juggling her
teaching job and private tutoring classes.

While Mee San was diligently building her
AMWAY business, the strongest objection
came from Kok Joo. However, he gradually
saw the true value and immense potential
of AMWAY. After attending a major rally, he
made up his mind to work together with
Mee San to build their AMWAY business.
After slightly more than a year doing it on
a part-time basis, Kok Joo & Mee San
qualified as Founders Platinum in 2007. Since
then, they have been invited to join the all-
expenses-paid AMWAY Leadership Seminars
and Diamond Invitations held in various
countries every year. After qualifying Diamond
in 2012, Mee San & Kok Joo could afford to
go on vacation with their parents every year.

My father advised me to take up an
automotive engineering course in college.
Unfortunately, in my second year of studies,
his business flopped. We were forced to
move to a tiny room on the upper floor of a
sundry store.
My mother had to work as a cashier in the
store while taking care of me and my siblings.
My elder brother and I decided to ease
her burden. That’s when my schoolmate
cum upline shared the AMWAY™ business
opportunity with me. With our upline’s

Before joining AMWAY™, my husband was
a digital colour specialist, while I was a
beautician. I was happy with my job, so
I turned down the numerous invitations by my
younger siblings to attend AMWAY business
opportunity meetings. I finally attended one
out of concern that my younger sister might
be the victim of a scam.
At the meeting, I saw the potential of

Conference 2016:
A Huge Success
Busan, South Korea
The inaugural APAC New Diamond
Conference (NDC) saw a gathering of 250
new Diamonds from Malaysia, Singapore,
Thailand, Korea and Japan. The exclusive
event was held in Busan, South Korea, in
conjunction with the 21st Busan International
Film Festival (BIFF).
A total of 15 new Diamonds from Malaysia
and one from Singapore were invited. The
3-day conference was designed to inspire
and help them build sustainable businesses,
and requalify as Diamonds or higher. It was
also an opportunity for them to learn from
each other.
For the new Diamonds, one of the highlights
of the trip was being invited to attend the
ARTISTRY Garden Party and the 21st Busan
International Film Festival (BIFF) Opening
Ceremony at the Busan Cinema Center.

Mark Beiderwieden, APAC Regional President;

by sub-regional break-out sessions where
they discussed topics of importance and
highlighted the key learnings from each region.
The APAC NDC ended with a bang with the
new Diamonds attending a Gala Dinner held
in their honour at the prestigious Nurimaru
APEC House, which overlooks the beautiful
Gwangandaegyo bridge. The former is
the first in a series of annual events in Asia
Pacific that is leading to the AMWAY 60th
Anniversary celebration in Las Vegas in 2019.

I’m-Possible! The volunteering spirits of
22 AMWAY Business Owners (ABOs) and
employee volunteers (also known as Space
Troopers) enabled AMWAY’s Program
Harapan Saturday Show’s Mission to Mars via
Generasi Marikh to take off without a hitch.

The mission was led by Emerald Ahmad

Syukran Idris, mission commander for the
day. We welcomed 51 upper secondary
school students from Rumah Tunas Harapan
and Pusat Perkembangan Kemahiran
Kebangsaan Serendah on board, where they
joined the mission commander and fellow
space troopers on their mission to Mars.
The students were divided into a total of 10
teams, with four to five students to a team.
With the support from their team facilitators,
each team crafted their own space shuttle
using a variety of paper to discover the best
way to achieve the greatest flight distance.
Each team member was assigned a specific
role and responsibility, such as, pilot,
designer, time keeper and commander.

HAPPY RETIREMENT, PAUL

We bid farewell to Paul Yee who will retire as Managing Director of AMWAY
Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore on 1 January 2017 after 32 years of devoted
service. AMWAY Malaysia has delivered remarkable results as it recorded
impressive growth in the 16 years under Paul’s direct leadership, and
it continues to shine as one of the largest, and most successful, AMWAY
operations in the world.

Paul joined AMWAY in 1984 in the Communications Department and worked

his way up to various leadership positions before assuming the role as AMWAY
Malaysia’s General Manager in 2000. In 2004, he assumed full responsibility
as the General Manager for AMWAY Malaysia and Brunei, and was also
appointed as the Executive Director of AMWAY Malaysia Holdings Bhd. In
October 2014, Paul assumed responsibilities for AMWAY Singapore. He was
promoted to his current position as Managing Director on 1 February 2016.

Paul was instrumental in leading AMWAY Malaysia to achieve

RM1 billion sales in 2015, a goal he set in 2006 during AMWAY Malaysia’s 30th
anniversary. With his guidance of the Malaysian management team and AMWAY
Business Owner organisation, AMWAY Malaysia was able to achieve this goal
one year earlier despite challenging economic situations.

Under his leadership, AMWAY Singapore went through a business

transformation; i.e. opening its first City Shop right in the heart of the city,
bringing both the business opportunity and its high quality products right to
the marketplace, thus increasing AMWAY’s accessibility. Barriers to entry
were also removed, resulting in a phenomenal increase in people joining the
business.

We would like to thank Paul for his contribution, unwavering commitment and
passion, and wish him a happy retirement.

Mike Duong will be promoted to the position of General Manager of AMWAY

Malaysia and Brunei, and Leslie Tan will be promoted to the position of Country
Manager of AMWAY Singapore effective 1 January 2017.

CHANNELS?
Mass communication channels consist of websites or
any broadcast communication methods, including mass
mailing, telemarketing, national or international advertising
through radio, television, facsimile service, computer
communications network or any other means by which
person-to-person contact is not present.
WHY IS ADVERTISING AMWAY PRODUCTS
PROHIBITED?
• The AMWAY business is based on equal opportunity for
all AMWAY Business Owners (ABOs) and to uphold fair
trade in the business.
• Advertisements may reach the homes of ABOs and/
or prospects/customers of other ABOs. This may be
construed as blind prospecting or customer pinching.
• This action may also lead to the supply of products to
another Line of Sponsorship (LOS), which is a violation
of the AMWAY Business Rules of Conduct Section 4.2,
which states:
“No ABO shall engage in
cross group buying or selling/supplying.
‘Cross group buying and selling/supplying’
occurs when an ABO sells or supplies
AMWAY distributed or supplied products
and/or services to another ABO who is

Yes, you can BUT only through a closed or private
network.
Q2 Who can I share it with?
Your existing customers or downlines.
Q3 Who are the people that I should not share with?
The general public, or friends who you do not
personally know.
Q4 What do I have to keep in mind when I share these
information?
Make sure no copyrighted materials are being used
e.g., AMWAY logo, trademark, images or pictures
because it is an infringement of the company’s
intellectual property rights.
Q5 Can I sell AMWAY products and promote the AMWAY
Business Opportunity on the Internet via Facebook,
Mudah.com, Lelong.com, and other online shopping
platforms?
No. This is a violation of the AMWAY Rules of
Conduct Section 9.5.4.
Q6 Can I use my Blogger or WordPress and personal
home page to promote AMWAY?
Yes, but you must ensure:
• Set your Blogger, WordPress and personal
home page to private setting.
• Provide your website’s access password and
register with AMWAY. AMWAY reserves the right
to access the website and any contents deemed
inappropriate by AMWAY must be changed
whether by editing, deletion or addition as
AMWAY deems fit.

of colourful flowers, leaves, shells and
sometimes even seeds, nuts and
feathers. A lei is a celebration
of affection from one person
to another, therefore, always
accept a lei when offered.
 
The right way to wear a lei
is to gently drape it over the
shoulders, while ensuring it Original

a lei in front of the person who
presented it to you as it is
considered impolite to do so.
