Just Law
A Just Law is an ordinance of reason which should be
properly promulgated by a competent authority for the
sake of common good.

-St. Thomas Aquinas

1.) Ordinance of reason - a product of careful and

serious deliberation. - must not be based on whim, emotion,
sentiments.

2.) proper promulgation - is properly announced and

spread. – it`s a combined task of the authorities and the
people concerned

Ignorance vs. innocence

Ignorance- you do not know only because you choose

not to know it. Innocence- you do not know because you
still don`t have the capacity to know it.

3.) Competent authority - only persons with legitimate

authority can make and promulgate the law.

4.) For the sake of common good - friendly to each

individual. – it must be for all.
