Scope The scope is unlimited. SCC approves National Standards of Canada

(NSCs) in every subject area. SCC does not itself develop standards but
accredits Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) which carry out
standards development and submit candidate NCS's to SCC for approval.
The following four SDOs are accredited by SCC: Bureau de normalisation
du Quebec (BNQ), Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB), CSA
International, Underwriters' Laboratories of Canada (ULC).
Publication Work programmes of the accredited SDOs are available directly from
each organization. Information on the accredited SDOs on whose behalf
SCC notifies its acceptance of the Code of Good Practice for the
Preparation, Adoption and Application of Standards is available on the
SCC homepage at: www.scc.ca/about/sdoe.html. Those unable to access
the information electronically, and those having specific questions about
the SDOs may request information from the WTO TBT Enquiry Point for
Canada at the contact address below.

Scope CEI mission, as the Italian Standardization Organization in the electric,

electronic and telecommunications fields, is to improve the quality of life,

Scope The preparation, establishing, adoption and application of standards.

KAZMEMST implements the State policy in the field of Technical
Regulation and maintenance of uniformity of measurements.
KAZMEMST forms the State systems of Technical Regulation and
maintenance of uniformity of measurements.
As of today, Kazakhstan is working on the formation of the technical
legislation and normative legal acts with a view to reforming the system of
technical regulation and the accession of the Republic into the World
Trade Organization. Legislative and normative bases should be
harmonized as much as possible with the international requirements and
standards. With the adoption of an international system of technical
regulation, the “Technical Regulation” Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan
has considerably expanded the sphere of application of standards.
The main directions of work in the field of standardization are:
- development of evidence-based foundations for observance of
mandatory requirements of technical regulations;
- removal of technical barriers to trade by harmonization of domestic
standards with international equivalents;
- higher level of safety and competitiveness of products, implementation
of modern methods of management of quality and environmental issues.
According to the Law of the RK, the reforming of the existing system of
technical regulation stipulates creation of a two-level system: technical
regulations containing all obligatory public requirements on product
safety, and voluntary standards including norms of competitiveness for
such products.

Scope Through the Standardization and non-tariff barriers Surveillance Commission,

INDECOPI acts as Peru’s Standardization Organization. It has 100 Technical
Standardization Committees covering several areas of national interest, with
the participation of a number of institutions and experts from the production,
consumption and technical sectors, both at public and private levels.
INDECOPI is the organization designated as the National Information Service
for Standards and voluntary Procedures of Conformity Evaluation.
At international level, it has full membership of ISO (as P-Member on 14
Committees and as O-Member on 3 Committees), and it is an affiliated
member of IEC (on 3 Committees). In relation to the Codex Alimentarius, it
participates in 4 World Committees coordinating directly with contact points in
the country.
At regional level, it is a member of PASC, COPANT and CAN. INDECOPI’s
main goal this year is to increase the number of national standards that are
harmonized with international standards, and with this in mind, it seeks to
vote systematically in the committees in which it has P-Membership at ISO
level, and to participate actively in the mirror committees established in the
framework of ISO, IEC and CODEX ALIMENTARIUS.
The Standardization Programme for this year plans to approve at least 205
Peruvian Technical Standards in, among others, the following main sectors:
Agro-Industry, Fishing, Energy, Textile-Clothing, Chemical Technology,
Construction, Clean-up, Electrical Security, Environmental Management,
Quality Management and Conformity Evaluation.
