beak to look for food in the sand and in the water. Some of the ocean
animals live in the sand by the ocean. We like to dig them out of the sand.
We find shells in the sand too. Some shells are homes for animals that live in
the ocean and beside the ocean.

the day to keep cool. A jackrabbit has long ears. His ears help give off heat and
keep him cool. Some animals live in cold deserts. They look for food in the day,
but they stay in a hole at night to keep warm. Some plants live in the desert. A
cactus keeps water in its stems. A baobab tree gets water from deep in the
ground. Some people live in the desert, too. They must keep moving to look for
food and water.
