Introduction

In this project we talk and discuss about the airworthiness and safety validation
verification methods in the Program. I will be explaining different ways of managing
a project and explain the advantages and disadvantages of introducing the new plane
into the aircraft industry, also the process our company went thru to verify and
validate the to make it airworthy and able to fly safely.

First, we know that airworthiness regulations cover the field of aircraft development,
operation/maintenance, owners, and operators also airworthiness is the bottom line of
the safety requirements and it’s a chain based on three factors as shown below in the
diagram.

.
Flight safety represented as three links in a chain

Researching about the problems it had then updating errors will

make our company one of the most airworthy aircraft in market.

The EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency)
The aim of this agency is to assist European commission in preparing legislation, and
support the member states and industry in putting the legislation into effect also to
monitor the application of European community legislation. It also adopts its own
certification specification and guidance material, conducts technical inspections, and
issue certification where centralized action is more efficient.

The EASA “type-certificate” confirms that the design of the aircraft complies with
European safety and environmental standards. The aircraft can now be legally
registered and operated commercially throughout the European Union. At the same
time, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will issue its “validation” of the
airplane certification for the US and entire world market.
In the chart below it shows EASA organization and how it's divided into different
department to form a complete organization to issue airworthiness.

Design Organization Approval
In the chart below, it shows all the process and tests we are going to
do on the Airplane for EASA to issue a Type Certification to it.

Relationship between design, design assurance, and type
investigation

The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration)

The FAA is responsible for the safety of civil aviation. Its main roles include:
1. Regulating civil aviation to promote safety.
2. Encouraging and developing civil aeronautics, including new aviation
technology.
3. Developing and operating a system of air traffic control and navigation for both
civil and military aircraft.
4. Researching and developing the national airspace system and civil aeronautics.
5. Developing and carrying out programs to control aircraft noise and other
environmental effects of civil aviation.
6. Regulating US commercial transportation.

In the chart below explains the aircraft certification service administers the type
certification program to determine compliance with the prescribed regulations and to
maintain certificate integrity.
The service is composed of three headquarters division, four certifications
directorates, an International Airworthiness Program Staff, and an Aircraft
Certification Division.

Work Breakdown Structure
The work breakdown structure (WBS) is an excellent tool for defining the scope in
which the project will include incorporate as a list of work packages. The following is
.a WBS for my project

Understanding Airworthiness and Safety Validation Verification Methods

Literature Review Design Data Evaluating Results

Literature from Literature from Designing procedure Software modeling and Interpret and
fourth year student other resources set up and testing simulation Collection and compare data
synthesis of data

The literature review is the first achievable milestone, which gives an insight into the
work of professionals and institutions in the areas of requisite expertise. This will
help in saving time with the project by not “reinventing the wheel” and bypassing
common mistakes made throughout the literature with regard to one’s own research.

In order to successfully complete the literature review, a series of meetings with the
project supervisor, Dr He Ren, were organized as he provided and insight into the
structure of the literature review and word limitations. Then the focus was what to
include in the contents of the literature review and where t obtain the literature. Fourth
year student which had already completed his literature, having already completed his
literature review, it had proven to be as an invaluable resource, with an abundance of
knowledge and having him a variety of literature. Journals and research articles were
easily attainable from the internet.
