ZERO (present simple + present simple)


Always true (if=when).

If you heat ice, it melts.


If you stand in the rain, you get well.

FIRST (present simple + WILL)


A possible situation in the future. Predicting a likely result in the future.
Present simple + Obligation
If it rains, I will stay at home.
If you see Tom, Phone me!
If you study hard, you will pass the exam.

SECOND (past simple + WOULD)


Hypothetical or unlikely situations now or in future.

If I won the lottery, I would travel a lot.


If I were you, I wouldnt buy that car. In if sentence we can use were instead of was.
I would go out if it werent raining.

THIRD (past perfect + WOULD HAVE)


The person is imagine a different past which is impossible to change.

If you had studied, you would have passed the exam.


If I hadnt been sick, I would have gone to your party.

MIXED CONDITIOANL (2 + 3)
It is a mix between the third and the second conditional.

If I had studied for the exam yesterday, now I would go to the party.
Past Present
If I were rich, I would have gone to Cuba last summer.
Present Past

In case

Whenever (siempre que)
