Technology resources-REQUIRED
Concept Map on Bubbl.us
This will be a reference for me to use when teaching the children and a step by step
procedure as to help me better teach them. This is helping me to be more prepared and be
able to spend more time with the children rather than me spending time thinking about how
I am going to use and teach the assignment.
Websites and APPS- REQUIRED
Related websites are websites to be used by the teacher or students in the course of this
lesson plan. They may be required or optional. Related websites may provide:

Pre-activities
Prior to doing this activity we will have read The Three Little Pigs, and colored the pigs
and the wolf to put in our houses. We will have discussed the topic of families and that
even animals have families too.

Activities
- We will re-read the book The Three Little Pigs and the I will ask them questions
about the book.
- I will expect them to have memorized the parts of the book such as front cover, back
cover, spine, title, and author.
- I will ask the children what they remember from the book, and then we will start
reading it.
- Each house that we come across we will predict if the wolf will be able to knock it
down based on the material that it is made of.
- Some of the questions I will ask at the end of the book will be
o Why do you think that the brick house could stay up but the others could not?
\
o Do you think they were scared in the brick house?
o Etc
- After we are done with the book I will say Are you guys ready to do a really fun
activity?
- I will tell them to go find a seat at the table and then we can start the activity.
- I will ask for helpers to pass out the materials, and I will put all the materials on the
table. I will put the straw for the first house and so forth.
- I will show them my example of the project that is expected, and then I will set them
off to do their own individual work.
- I will walk around the tables and see how they are doing, if they are being safe, if they
comprehend how to use all of the materials, and if they are doing the assignment
correctly.
- I will tell them that there are three houses on the paper, and that their job is to
remember what each house is made of.
- They will then glue each piece on making their houses.

Assessment
I will observe to see if the child can complete the task at hand. I will also have a check list
with me with the certain skills that should have been accomplished throughout this
activity.
