Im here to gain experience, learn and improve my weak points. So, Ajman Academy is a great chance to
achieve these targets. I decide first On Sunday to observe one of my colleagues to teach grade one. Then
on Monday, I observed my colleagues who teach grade five. However, to gain more experience , On
Tuesday and Wednesday I observed my colleagues MST.

Today, in my break time, I observed my colleagues while they were teaching. I attend the first
observation to my colleague who teaches grade one. She starts greeting the students, and then
straightly she starts explaining the lesson. What was good for her teaching that it was student center
more than teacher centered, and a well prepared before the lesson. In consequence, it gives the
students the chance to discover the concept by themselves and allow them to think deeply. However, I
had one point that I didnt support, that she made the reward system for groups not individuals. That
doesnt show the teacher, who exactly worked with the group, who understand the lesson and able to
answer and who well behaved in each group. I didnt mean that having a reward system for each group
is a bad idea, but its better to have for both group and individually.

In contrast, I observed my colleague who teaches grade five. She had three different activities,
differentiated for the three different levels (low, middle, and high). Thats helped her to scaffold the
students while they are working on the activities and take them to a higher level. However, she doesnt
have a reward system, thats led her to face a few difficulties in controlling the students.

Today, I decided to observe my colleagues MSTs. I went first to grade one. The teacher has various
Manipulatives that can use them in mathematics lessons. For example, cubes and shapes. The teacher
starts teaching the lesson with an engaging activity to capture the students attention. She applied
different music to get the students familiar with the lesson. The teacher then gets the students to
discuss their answers in groups and moved around. She is really a good teacher who knows how to get
the students always engaged to learn.

Observing other teachers allowed me to gain more experience and learn different strategies. Each
teacher has different methods to follow and reason behind it. All the strategies are helpful and
successful.
