Journal Notes for Practicum 3b.

Write your journal in paragraph form. It should be a minimum of 100 words and clearly
illustrated with photographs. Remember, it is your personal account of your thoughts,
feelings and reactions during your time in the preschool. Consequently, you may choose to
focus not only on the discussion points raised in each observation and/or use one, all or none
of the following focus points in your journal.

You can use this table to make notes / jot down ideas during TP. It would also be helpful to
consistently compare this practicum with previous TP experience and reflect on your
professional development with reference to the TP Competencies.

What is your general feeling about TP at the end of the day?

This week, I have a lot of works to do and I want to complete the tasks and my lesson plan. Until
know, I complete 6 lesson plans and 3 tasks. I feel comfortable with what I did but next week I want to
hurry and complete all my tasks. The students love me and I like them because they understand when I
teach them.

Reflect on the duties/activities did you carry out during the preschool today. How do you feel
about your efforts? Was there anything you could have done to improve the quality of the
learning experience for the children?

This I have a big responsibility to monitor the students in the classroom and out of the classroom.
Because we go with our MST and another teacher to trip to Dubai and its big responsibility for us to
observe all students in my classroom. The students do a lot of activity in City Mirdif (little explorer)
and they enjoy the place and I enjoyed with them.

What was the most interesting activity or strategy you saw your MST use? Why did you think it
was interesting and worth noting/remembering? Compare this with previous TP experience.

This week my MST let the students to be organized when they move from class to playground or toilet
or assembly. The students make a straight line and walk without any voice so my MST feel proud of
her students because its difficult to teach the students to be quiet especially KG students.

What progress have you made in terms of your own personal targets for TP this semester?
Which TP competencies do you feel you achieved and which do you think that you need to focus
on next time? Discuss ways in which you could do.

This week I developed my assessment competency and I apply different types of assessment such as
traffic light, flying chart, and formative board. I developed this competency and I know I I assess the
students learning and differentiate between them.
What evidence of learning did you identify/document today? Relate this to the UK EYFS early
learning goals.

During the week, the students learn in a different way by exploring, doing, analyzing and applying.
when I reviewed with students different numbers using my hands-on activity. They students love to
learn because I prepared the activity like a game and students engaged when they explore.

What was the most important thing you learned about the role of the teacher in managing all
aspects of the school day? Compare this with previous TP experience and where possible make
links with college-based learning.

This week I learned that teacher responsible to let his children polite and organized in assembly and in
front of another teacher. The teacher should explain to the student the important of assembly and
essential of participating in assembly activity.
