1. Hosiery: a word used especially in shops for things such
as socks, tights, and stockings. Ex: Hosiery is on the
second floor, Madam

Translation: Calcetera: una palabra usada especficamente en tiendas

para cosas como medias, mallas, y calcetas. Ej: La calcetera est en el
segundo piso, Seora.

2. Acorn: a nut that grows on oaktrees. Ex: Even a blind squirrel finds
an acorn sometimes.

Translation: Bellota: Una nuez que crece en arboles robles. Ej: Incluso
una ardilla ciega a veces encuentra una bellota

3. Puny: small; weak; not effective. Ex: Hes a puny little man.

Translation: Insignificante: Pequeo; dbil; no efectivo. Ej: El es un

hombre pequeo e insignificante.

4. Hail: small, hard balls of ice that fall from the sky like rain. Ex:
Fortunately, the hail did not damage the crops.

Translation: Granizo: pequeas, bolas duras de hielo que caen del cielo
como lluvia. Ej: Afortunadamente, el granizo no estropeo los cultivos.

5. Smithereens: a lot of small broken pieces. Ex:

The city was bombed to smithereens during the war.

Translation: Aicos: Un montn de pequeas piezas rotas. Ej: La ciudad

fue explotada a aicos durante la guerra.
 6. Menial: used to describe work that does not need any skills and is
badly paid and often boring. Ex: Most end up doing
temporary, menial labor.

Translatiom: Servil: Usado para describer trabajo que no necesita ningina

habilidad y es mal pagado y usualmente es aburrido
