Select any organization of your choice which falls under learning organization category

and apply any of the organizational development models on it. Explain the process of
applying Organizational Development (OD) method to help organization members, manage
change.

organizations need to find the suitable strategies and solutions to adapt the competitive
environment. So, "learning organization" and "best practice" are two important concepts to lead
organizations become successful businesses. The successfulness of one product depends on the
contribution of getting experiences from failure lessons or by the effort of trying to learn and the
innovative of employees. It is being observed Organization encourages their employees learning
continuously from failure and success of past products. Then having knowledge and skills to find
best way to solve problems and create new better products to make profit for organization. A
learning organization requires effective knowledge management and knowledge management to
support the distribution of knowledge, of course, turn to support learning. (ukessays, 2015)

My choice of company will be Apple Inc which is a giant business shareholder. Its corporation
over the world also used two methods of "learning organization" and "best practices" to be able to
overcome difficulties in the market today. Apple Inc. faces a lot of mistakes, even failures in some
product lines in the past and learning with all the failures of other companies. It has managed to
grow as fruitful organization today. Said that learning is a continuous process and innovation for
its members, and one in which the development, adaptation, and transform itself to meet the needs
and aspirations of the people, both inside and outside of it. The way is Peter Senge of thinking
that has five major factors in the learning organization. Those are systems thinking, personal
mastery, mental models, building shared visions, and team learning. A learning organization
is at a higher level and involves a lot more than what we believe in knowledge management. Work
processes to enhance the importance of learning and integrating all aspects of knowledge. Best
practices which apple adhere such as new software development, construction, transportation,
business management as well as government. (leadership)

Best practices can be a part of helping transfer tacit knowledge to explicit knowledge such as:
documented in the form of manuals, lists, reports, software, instructional documents or materials
which they realized is success which is fail in their product then having new idea for new product
and successful. iPhone is one of most successful products of Apple, but no one know that behind
this successfulness is learning form the failure.

It is safe to say that the company masters doing both at the same time. Constant adaptation
is one of the keystones of the Apple strategy to outperform its rivals. In the book Inside Apple (by
Adam Lashinsky), it is defined how CEO Steve Jobs, just before his passing, secured the source
of Apples adaptability by establishing a corporate university, the Apple University. Not a real
university, but the American denotation of what is known in Europe and Asia as a corporate
academy. Jobs himself Stated that he believes he has set Apple on a course to survive in his
absence. He has created a culture that, while not particularly jolly, has internalized his ways. Jobs
even is ensuring that his teachings are being collected, curated, and preserved so that future
generations of Apples leaders can consult and interpret them

The reason behind apple success story the systematic approach of organizational development
model in case of apple as it extensively applies action research model over the years, made
significant contributions for the apple and to the field of OD and beyond, through its emphasis on
the dual process of academic research/knowledge creation and problem solving (Coghlan, &
Brannick, 2014; Reason & Torbet, 2001). It can therefore be argued that the concept has played
and continues to play a critical role in bridging the researcher-practitioner gap in the field of OD.
In support of the various problemcentred cases noted by Gallos (2006, pp 141) to have been
successfully solved through the application of the action research model, Burnes and Cooke (2012)
stated that the model is the most used approach by OD practitioners. Furthermore, the action
research model is known for its rigor, and has shown extensive contributions in the area of theory
and methodology advancements, considering that a host of action research forms have been

developed form the original concept (Coghlan, & Brannick, 2014).
