large. Maintains order and supports staff and students in the absence of school principal by implementing and enforcing the
school safety plan and following school rules.

Established a foundation for my firm, fair, and consistent classroom management skills, increased my skills as a Grade Level
Team Member, being accountable for increased academic outcomes and increased behavioral expectations without excuses or
limits.
Middle School Math Teacher, Bethune Grades 2-8 Building, Detroit Public Schools 2003-2004
Created an incentive program for math mastery throughout the entire building to help with one of the School Improvement
goals. Two times a year students were tested in their math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and
rewarded for mastery of 90% or higher. Grades 2-4 tested in addition and subtraction only. Grades 5-8 tested in addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division. This helped to improve students confidence in math, accountability in all academics,
and self-esteem about being part of a community larger than self.

Lead Teacher, 2014-Present
Maintain a visible presence to the greater school community by hosting school defining events (i.e International Night, Talent
Show, ACES walk). Develop meaningful connections with families while ensuring safety during parent pick up/bus duty.
Support and mentor teachers and parents in creating academic, social/emotional and behavioral growth goals. Present
professional development around the topics of technology integration and community building. Enforce strict disciplinary
consequences to ensure student/school safety. Frequently communicate with parents (face to face, via telephone) who are
concerned, disgruntled and irate with consequences set for their child. School Leader in the absence of Building Principal.
Phenomenal Science (PS) & Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Alignment Facilitator 2017
Aligned the PLTW and PS curriculum to address the physical science standards according to Michigan K12 Science Standards.
Co-designed and presented curriculum roll out to grade level team members and PLTW staff. Incorporated 3D Learning, 5E

Creating and developing curriculum that incorporates best practices from the traditional classroom setting and online
platforms. Students and teachers develop digital portfolios of learning progress, adjusting content and rigor along the way, and
allowing access to a variety of opportunities to represent understanding of content and student engagement. Presenter at the
AAPS Technology Academy 2017.
