The special meeting of the principal with subject area coordinators opened through a
prayer led by Mrs. Bagon. The principal mentioned that the meeting is meant for the area of
instruction. She relayed that special meetings like these will be called for other areas to address
specific concerns but the monthly administrative meeting will still push through.
To begin, the principal shared the framework of the National Competency-Based
Standard for School leaders. She explained the core competencies of school leaders as well as
the 7 domains school leadership, instructional leadership, creating student leadership,
professional development, parent involvement, school management and daily operations and
personal and professional attributes and interpersonal effectiveness.
She stressed that part of school leadership is making strategic plan based on data and
part of strategic planning is considering the internal and external factors. As leaders, one must
also be equipped to handle human resource management conflict, build high performance a s a
team and coordinate the task with others.

She emphasized that assessment and adopting, implementing and evaluating program
are essentials in instructional leadership.
She also added that creating student leadership climate, an environment suited for
learning is also the role of school leaders while part of professional development is conducting
PLC, PL network, recruiting, hiring and managing progress of teachers.
She also clarified that the daily routines that the SAC are doing as well as establishing
the standard is part of school management and daily operations.
In the personal and professional domain, she stressed the importance of the level of
professionalism (commitment), communication, fairness and integrity.
Among the different domains, she highlighted that the challenge for the subject area
coordinator is to focus on instructional leadership.
She then segued to the existing supervisory program. She reviewed the purpose, kinds
and guidelines on observation. She emphasized that the summary of the observation must only
contain the highlights of the observation. The observation form being used was also evaluated.
Clarifications were made by the SAC. The item on integrating the use of technology is not
simply using powerpoint presentation but how it was used judiciously. The principal mentioned
the plan of adopting teachnology in elementary and using the PLC time for teachers to prepare
the lesson using LMS.
The SAC requested for department meetings to be transferred on Thursday since some
teachers still have classes or clubs. The principal told them to check it with the SAP coordinator
to avoid conflicts in schedule. She also reminded the SAC to give the reminders and follow-ups
ahead of time to shorten meeting time.

UPDATES:
1. Mrs. Abante shared that the MTG qualifying test is scheduled on Saturday, August 5.
Students from other schools like Stonyhurst, UB and BSU will also be coming.
2. IRP will be launched on Friday.
3. On Sunday, August 6, is the sending off our student catechists.
