Rationale
Summary
1. What are the processes involved in the existing billing and collection
system of Carmak Motors?
Abstract |
Data Gathering
The System Development Life Cycle is an interactive process which
consists of the following stagesproject planning phase, analysis phase, design
phase, implementation phase and support phase. The researchers employed the
process in the study. Data gathering tools that were used by the researchers
include direct method or interview and observation method.
Problem Areas
As the primary goal of this study, the researchers designed a
computerized billing and collection system that would aid in the problems
encountered by CARMAK MOTORCYCLES branch in Baguio City in their existing
manual system. By conducting several analysis and study on CARMAK
operations, problem encountered are as follows:
CARMAK doesnt have efficient generation of reports due to delays
caused by their existing system which is in manual.
CARMAK has increased transactions which have caused intensive
paperworks which were hardly organized. Customers schedule of payments are
done on the last two weeks of the month. Due to this, inconsistency of the
records or errors were committed several times.
Recommendations
1. Installation of the proposed system is highly recommended.
2. The users of the system must be fully acquainted with the system and
they should have sufficient knowledge to operate it.
3. If the proposed billing and collection system is installed, then it must
have proper maintenance.
4. Back-ups are highly recommended. The management must secure
flash drives or similar devices that would contain a copy of the system
and its contents. Online back-up must also be maintained.
