Jihad Resolution

Indonesia's independence on 17 August 1945, but not yet even 1 month of Indonesian
independence immediately got a heavy test. Allied soldiers who rode the Dutch army landed
in Jakarta and other major cities in Indonesia. Bung karno and Bunghatta attempted to make
diplomatic efforts to encourage allied forces to take care of prisoners only and not to criticize
the independence of Indonesia, but the effort did not work. At the suggestion of Great Jendral
Sudirman, bungkarno asked to send a messenger to rahisul akbar nahdatul ulama Hadratul
Syeikh K.H. Hasyim Asyari in tebuireng islamic boarding school.

Hadratus Syaikh, I bring a massage from Soekarno. He ask what is the law of defend
state not religion? Once more, what is the law of defend state not religion? said the
messenger. Give me a time i will think about it answered Kyai Hasyim.

Then Kyai hasyim called K.H. Wahab Hasbulloh from the tambakberas of jombang.
Kyai wahab asked to gather the chairmen of NU presidents of jawa-madura to discuss this
issue, not only that kyai hasyim also asks the kyai NU to do the prayer istiqoroh.

22 october 1945 all delegates of NU across java & madura have gathered at head office
of ansor in surabaya bubutan road. After a long discussion and listening to the result of
istiqoroh, resulted in 3 important formulations which later became known by the name of
JIHAD NU RESOLUTION.

Content of JIHAD NU resolution:

1. Every Muslims, Old, Youngs And Poor Even If Compulsory Combates The Perfect
People With Independence Of Indonesian Independence.
2. Dead People In The World Of Independent World Is Considered Syuhada.
3. A Privilege To The Netherlands At Surround Of Unity And Unity And Because It Hasrus
Being Deadly Off.

Just three days after the Jihad Resolution was initiated, 6000 allied troops landed in
the port of Tanjung Perak Surabaya with full weaponry and spread pamphlets by helicopter

commanders Laskar Hisbulloh, Sabilillah, Mujahiddin, TKR, and santri were in anger. A
young man named Soetomo came to Kyai Hasyim, he asked permission to desseminate Jihad
Resolution through radio.

kyai I have read the newspaper about Jihad Resolution. My heart was racing said
bung tomo. begin and end your speech by saying gods greatness Allahu Akbar, Allahu
Akbar, Allahu Akbar answered Kyai Hasyim.
