Design YOUR Own Art Project:


Project Objectives:
Students will gain research method skills & strategies and hold themselves accountable
by creating and designing their own independent art study project. Students will
incorporate major themes and/or techniques from traditional and contemporary Masters.

Students will use the Art Elements & Art Principles to evaluate their final product.

Students will reference a 21st Century Skills Rubric to help determine their final grade.

Rationale:
To become stronger, more confident, self directed artists/designers in a 21st Century
teaching and project based learning environment.

Timeline (3.5 Weeks MAX):


Week 1:
Project Roll Out: expectations, tech requirements, and searching for inspiration.
Pre-assessment(s): a way to determine what students know about a topic or gauge their
current skill level before content is taught. Must record evidence of this on DP and
provide link to it on the tracker.
Independently Research your topic further by watching at least 2 different YouTube
videos and 1 other source of your choice and then citing (MLA) them on a Google doc
titled Works Consulted Page.
