AGUA
Hay pases que yo recuerdo
como recuerdo mis infancias.
Son pases de mar o ro,
de pastales, de vegas y aguas.
Aldea ma sobre el Rdano,
rendida en ro y en cigarras;
Antilla en palmas verdi-negras
que a medio mar est y me llama;
roca ligure de Portofino:
mar italiana, mar italiana!
Me han trado a pas sin ro,
tierras-Agar, tierras sin agua;
Saras blancas y Saras rojas,
donde pecaron otras razas,
de pecado rojo de atridas
que cuentan gredas tajeadas;
que no nacieron como un nio
con unas carnazones grasas,
cuando las oigo, sin un silbo,
cuando las cruzo, sin mirada.
Quiero volver a tierras nias;
llvenme a un blando pas de aguas.
En grandes pastos envejezca
y haga al ro fbula y fbula.
Tenga una fuente por mi madre
y en la siesta salga a buscarla,
y en jarras baje de una pea
un agua dulce, aguda y spera.
Me venza y pare los alientos
el agua acrrima y helada.
Rompa mi vaso y al beberla
me vuelva nias las entraas!

WATER
There are countries I remember
as I remember my childhood.
They are countries of sea or river,
of grasslands, of plains and waters.
My village over the Rhne,
surrendered in river and in cicadas;
Antille in deep green colour palms
that is at mid sea and calls for me;
Ligurian rock of Portofino:
Italian sea, Italian sea!
They have brought me to a river-less country,
Hagar-lands, no water lands;
white Sarahs and red Sarahs,
where other races sinned,
of red sin of Atreides
that count torn clays;
that where not born as a child
with some swelling greasy wounds,
when I hear them, without a whistle,
when I cross them, without a glance.
I want to be back to childlike lands;
take me to a tender country of waters.
Let me grow old in big pastures
and let the river make fable and fable.
Have a spring for my mother
and during the nap go and find her,
and in jugs come down from a cliff
a sweet water, sharp and rough.
Beat and stop my breaths
the relentless and cold water.
Break my glass and when drinking
turn my guts into children!
