Optimization Problem:
If the function of maximum revenue is stated as Z = P1.X1 + P2.X2, how many fleets of
each transport mode to be operated by the transport manager if he wants to maximize its
revenue? (in 105 Rp)
Solution :
Specified deposit (setoran) amount per day (P) is determined by correlation with its
demand (D) :
Z = P1.X1 + P2.X2
Z = (7,5 0,05 Dtaxi) + (8 0,025 Dbus)
Z = (7,5 0,05 X) + (8 0,025 Y)

ANALYTICALMETHOD
Employees constrains:
X + 2Y 8
Time constrains:
6X + 8Y 36
Notes:
X represent the number of taxi
Y represent the number of buses
3. Calculating X and Y :
X + 2Y 8 x4 4X + 8Y = 32
6X + 8Y 36 x1 6X + 8Y = 36 (-)
-2X = -4 X=2
X + 2Y = 8 2 + 2Y = 8
Y=3
As we know from the previous statement mentioned that Specified deposit (setoran)
amount per day (P) is determined by correlation with its demand (D), while company
fleet have the allocation of transport operating time by 36 hours.
Based on this statement, the objective function (Z) for maximum revenue should be
calculated in 24-hours vehicles operation time(taxi and buses) and we should convert
the number of taxi and buses on to 24-hours operation time, as follow:
X = 2 x 24 = 1,333
36
Y = 3 x 24 = 2,000
36

So we have the number of taxi and buses that operate in 24-hours operation time
below:
Bus = 2 units
The maximum revenue per day generated by taxi and buses operated by the
transport manager is Rp 1.538.300,-
