 Apple Basket
Adding to 10
This apple basket adding to 10 activity is a great hands-on tool for practice
addition facts.

To prepare:

Print pages 4-12 on card stock and/or laminate for durability.

Cut out the addition fact cards, sum baskets, large basket and small apples.

Optional: You can use red and green pom poms in place of the small apples
for a more multi-sensory experience.

Place the small apples (pom poms) on the apple trees. One tree with red
apples and one tree with green apples.

To use:
The student will select a card and place it on the rectangle below the apple
trees.

Then, they will collect the amount of apples shown on the card to represent
the addition problem and place them in the large apple basket.

Count up the total amount of apples and find the matching numbered apple
basket. Place it in the square below the tree.

Say the addition problem out loud to help commit it to memory and then write
the problem on the recording sheet. (Page 13)
