Annotated Bibliography: Rise of green technology industry in Canada and in the world
The green technology industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Canada,
doubling its profit every 10 years. Climate changes, threatening levels of carbon emissions, water
and air pollution, as well as shortages and inefficiencies in energy production make the
scientific innovations and inventions make it possible for the green technology industry to
develop and offer meaningful solutions to the serious problems our planet is facing. Even though
nanotechnologies, renewable sources of energy, and innovative green startups provide plenty of
hope for the further growth of the sector, large hurdles like vague regulation and intellectual
property right policies, lack of funding, and uncertainty in the market persist. The following
articles further explore this, and many other issues, from different angles to give a basic

companies that work in the industry will receive greater advantages rather than their traditional
rivals. In this article the author states that the global green market is rapidly growing and it is
expected to double by 2025 and worth approximately EUR 4 billions. He identifies this trend to
be driven by five main forces such as the shift in demographic factors, the increase of number of
urban cities, globalization, the lack of resources and climate change. Those are primary reasons
that motivate countries to increase energy and materials efficiency to obtain strategic benefits in
Roland Berger claims in the article that the green tech industry is represented in two
different ways: the green tech sector itself and the traditional sectors that integrate sustainability
strategies into business. Afterwards, the author comes to the conclusion that the green technology
sector can help solve complex ecological and social challenges, which would aid their industrys
growth. This article has several strengths like the credible background and professional expertise

This article is focused on the Paris climate conference and the impact it has on the
technology industry, both traditional and green. It states that the burning problem of our
generation is carbon emission reduction. The author suggests that society ask people to pay for
future benefits they may never see. In this article the author explains why green technologies are
the key answer to climate problems and how those technologies can be implemented in life. In
this article the importance of carbon emission reduction is discussed from a global standpoint. It
is mentioned that improvements can be achieved collectively, when everyone puts forth
Mr. Brooks comes to the conclusion that science labs could work on geoengineering
issues to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. On the other hand, he points out that carbon
emission reduction is a good idea in theory, but it has not worked in reality so far. The author
provides a great conclusion by saying that green technologies will beat traditional only when
they will have technical and economic meaning. The strength of this article is in its challenging
and provocative context that gives food for reflection and encourages readers to obtain personal
opinion regarding the problem. As for weaknesses, this article is retrieved from a well-known
