Center

for
students
that

attending

class

have
made
arrangements
with
their
teacher

tutoring.

This
policy
was

the

Hello Students and Parents:
My name is Mrs. Buford and I am the K-8 School
Counselor. I know the last two weeks have been
extremely busy especially for those new to HTA. I also
know that the beginning of the school year can be quite
overwhelming not only for students but also for parents
especially in our unique learning environment.

I wanted to introduce the Counseling Corner which will be

in HTAʼs Fridayʼs Blast. I will be listing resources to help
with academic skills, social and emotional behaviors, and
time management issues. I am here to help our HTA
families have a successful and productive school year.

I found this website while searching the internet to assist

with a student. I thought the information on the site was

HTA ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB

Students who join HTA’s Environmental Club will
learn about the natural environment that we live in and
how we as humans impact our planet. Student
members will help plan, implement, and maintain a
variety of different projects and activities around the
island.

Activities may include beach clean-ups, invasive

species removal, recycling programs, hiking, whale watching,
composting, and other activities based upon student interests. Club meetings will take
place both on Elluminate and at the learning center.

OPEN TO GRADES: 7-12
