Mishra , the most powerful man within PMO , as well as the government. He along
with another powerful & experienced Bureaucrat N.K Singh ran the PMO.

PMO would then set up Special Committees to bypass Ministries and even the
cabinet. There were three aces up the PMOs Sleeve , when it comes to setting up
Special Committees :

Stratergic Management Group ( SMG )

To bypass objection raised to policy decisions by concerned departments & Ministries
To push economically unfeasible Projects ( such as 12 Lakh crore Golden
Quardrilateral Project of NHAI , with the Prime Minister personally championing
the project )

Setting up such Special Committees enabled them to ride roughshod over the
bureaucracy and foist controversial decisions on various ministries, without so much
as consulting them.

The Chairperson of these committees were as always Brajesh Mishra & N.K Singh
, along with some pliant Secretaries from the central government . They were set up
by the PMO to play out agendas of vested interests and have served as
..institutional mechanisms to overwhelm ministries, including the Cabinet...

Under Vajpayee NDA Administration , PMO dictated India's economic agenda and
this showed in the arbitrariness with which some Officials & Bureaucrats in
ministries functioned, courtesy the PMO , and took sensitive policy decisions through
its GoMs.

And the stated idea of the Stratergic Management Group (SMG) (meetings chaired
by the same duo) is to monitor the developments in key ministries regarding the
progress made on issues of national importance.
.The flip side is that it gives the PMO overriding power and leeway to interfere with
the functioning of the ministries," says a senior bureaucrat.

Being the Principal secretary ensured that Brajesh Mishra would have his finger in
every pie , which meant that he ensured he ran the government , the way he wanted.
Also given the fact that he was the chairperson for almost every committee set up by
the PMO , he called all the shots.

Brajesh Mishra enabled Indias emerging robber barons Businessmen , the

corporate Business Lobbies loot the Government exchequer. Key economic decisions
were thrust on this poor country, to the comfort of a few established business lobbies.

This was later passed off by the equally pliant Media as India Shining campaign.

After Rajnath Singh was anointed as BJP President, Icon of Ram Janambhoomi
