Latin America mining by the numbers

Latin America remains the most popular destination for nonferrous exploration, a position it has held since the mid-1990s. The region had a 22% year-on-year
decrease in allocations (US$1.95 billion to 22 countries plus regional work) in 2016, and was on par with the 21% global decrease, leaving its share of worldwide
exploration budgets at 28%.
