Point and state the key teaching for this lesson
Baptism, by imparting the life of Christs grace, erases original sin .... Catechism 405
If everyone had God living in them, helping them to love and do good, the world would become a much
happier and better place.
People would find it easier to:
be friends, rather than jealous of each other
love, rather than hurt each other
respect the property of others, rather than steal
care about others, rather than ignore them when they need help.
Prior Knowledge
Students have full understanding that Jesus conscience always urged him to do what God the Father
wanted.
Sstudents have explored that sin in original sin has a special meaning. It draws people away from God
and makes it hard at times to resist doing what is selfish or wrong.
Students have discussed previously that, to live forever with God in heaven, people need to be loving and
good, for God is always loving and good. However, human beings find this hard sometimes. They find it
hard never to be selfish, and to resist doing what they know to be wrong.
Extension Students can create a second comic strip using a different example of doing good. Get the
students to think outside the box. During reflection time, extension students can complete/start their own
prayer their own way.
Engagement Students will receive assistance from the Educational Assistant with drawing of the comic
strip and writing the prayer.
Special Considerations Teacher will have a prayer handy to keep writing up on the board for the
students that are struggling
Students will create a comic strip about the ways people can be selfish and do wrong. And also, the loving
and good actions people might carry out if they were helped through Baptism.
Comic Strip will be displayed in the classroom.
Anecdotal notes will be taken.

Baptism. For example,
be friends, rather than jealous of each other
love, rather than hurt each other
respect the property of others, rather than steal
care about others, rather than ignore them when they
need help.
