Riani Widiyanti and I am from snt-38. In todays presentation I will explain you about Hagia Sophia or Aya sofya. Haiga Sophia or Aya Sofya was a church, a mosque, but now a museum in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey. In todays presentation Id like to cover three points: firstly history about hagia Sophia, secondly, fact of hagia Sophia and finally about building of hagia Sophia. Lets start with history of Haiga Sophia. Haiga Sophia was originally built as a church in 532-537 AD on the orders of Emperor of Royal Romawi. Haiga Sophia was designed by Isidore of Miletus and Anthemius of Tralles who were architectures from Greek. During the Fourth Crusade, this church was looted and desecrated by the Crusaders. After occupation of Ottomans troops, the Hagia Sophia was converted into mosque. Hagia Sophia became the first imperial mosque in Istanbul. The Ottoman Empire collapsed in November 1922 AD and replaced by secular Republic of Turkey. Its first president, Mustafa Kemal Atatrk ordered to close the Aya Sofya in 1931 AD to the public, and opened four years later in 1935 AD as a museum. So, thats an overview of history about hagia Sophia. Moving on to the next part, Id like to explain about fact of hagia Sophia. One, Hagia Sophia as a museum has both Christian and Islamic influences and features today. Two, The Blue Mosque and Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul were designed with an inspiration of Hagia Sophia and Hagia Sophia is one of the most important buildings in Istanbul and needs some restorations and repairs and Hagia Sophia has 40 windows in the area where worshipers sit and its known as famous reflecting mystical light. I think that just about covers fact of Hagia Sophia and now lets move on to building of Hagia Sophia. Haiga Sophia was located near from the blue mosque, a mosque in turkey which was characterized by a blue dome. To enter the museum, we have to pay 25 Turkish Lira (TL) for the ticket costs and free for children. Hagia Sophia has two floors. The ground floor which is also the main hall that was used as a place of worship. The churchs ornaments like the image of Jesus is still in the building side by side with Islamic calligraphy as lafadz Allah and Muhammad as well as several other calligraphy as well as in a mosque. On the second floor, there is a gallery of ancient pictorial mosaics of Mary and Jesus. Some interior is coated with green, white, purple and gold polychrome marbles. Finally, Id like to finish my presentation and thanking you all for your coming today.
