User Agreement
User Agreement
By installing the Bid Manager Software, you are agreeing to the terms of this
Agreement. If you do not agree to the terms of this agreement, promptly remove
the Software from any and all computers and return the Bid Manager Software
and all related Software documentation to Eaton Corporation.
Copyright and Duplication. The Software enclosed is protected by the copyright
laws of the United States, Canada and other countries. You must comply with the
applicable law.
Nondisclosure. You shall hold the Software confidential, shall not disclose the
Software to others, and shall use the Software only as set forth herein. You shall
not disassemble, decompile, or modify the Software. The data and information
included in the Software program is proprietary information of Eaton Cor-
poration and may be used by you solely for the purpose of pricing and config-
uring products. It shall not be used for any other purpose or disclosed to any
third party. Use of this Software is limited to authorized distributors of Eaton
Corporation. Upon termination of the Distributor Agreement between the
user and Eaton Corporation for any reason, all rights pursuant to this Agree-
ment shall terminate; user shall cease any further use of the Software; user
shall immediately remove the Software from all computers and return the
Software and all supporting documentation to Eaton Corporation.
The calculations, procedures, and selections made by Bid Manager generally fol-
low those required and defined by the National Electric Code (NEC)/Canadian
Electrical Code (CEC)/International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). How-
ever, there are certain inevitable limitations to the applicability of this Software.
Bid Manager Software should be used only as an aid in performing calculations
and evaluations. It is in no way intended to be a replacement for the careful exer-
cise of sound engineering judgment that must take place on every project. An
engineer is responsible, using his or her knowledge of the NEC/CEC and of the
project, to enter data correctly, to properly evaluate the displayed results, and to
determine if the results validly apply to the project under consideration.
This Software may interfere or corrupt other software and data in the PC on which
this Software is used. Eaton Corporation disclaims any responsibility and liabil-
ity for corruption of Software or data with which this Software is used.

Setting Up Bid Manager
Overview After installing Bid Manager, you can set it up to ensure that you can open it and
that it is ready for you to start using the application. This section describes how to:
Open and register Bid Manager
Connect to a drawer
Synchronize your data
Work with multiple users from the same computer

NOTE:
The Password and Confirm Password fields are optional. You do not need
a password to use Bid Manager.
Synchronizing your After installing Bid Manager, you should synchronize your data to ensure that all
of the features will operate properly.
Data
To synchronize your data:
1. In Bid Manager, click the Tools menu and then click Utilities.
The Bid Manager Maintenance Utility dialog box appears.
2. Click the Data Synchronization button.
The Bid Manager Data Synchronization window appears and downloads the information you
need.
3. Click the Close button when the process is complete.
Your data is synchronized.
Connecting to a Your Bid Manager information is stored either on your computer (called your Per-
sonal Drawer) or on a remote computer (called the server; also known as the
Drawer Home Drawer). You may choose where you would like to store your data.
By connecting to a drawer, you can share information such as folders, jobs, and
alternates with other Bid Manager users.
NOTE:
You must have a home drawer established and be connected to a network
to connect to a home drawer.
To connect to a drawer:
1. In Bid Manager, click the Tools menu, and then click Connect to Drawer.
A message appears if this is the first time you have tried to connect to a home drawer.
2. Click Yes.

A message appears stating that you are now connected to your home server.
3. Either:
To connect to other drawers, click Yes,
Or, to return to the main Bid Manager window, click No.
Your home drawer, and any other drawer you connected to, appears in the directory area.
Multiple Bid Manager Bid Manager is capable of recognizing more than one person using the same com-
puter.
Users
Each person using Bid Manager has a separate Personal Drawer and you are only
able to view your own Personal Drawer. Bid Manager uses the Windows log-in
dialog box to determine who is using the computer. If you are logged into Win-
dows and another user wants to use Bid Manager, then you must log off and then
log on as a different user.
NOTE:
You are able to share folders in your Personal Drawer so other users using
the same computer can view them.
