To belong is very important to all of us. We love to feel loved and special. The story that we are going to be looking at today is called Jesus and
the Little Children. It is from the chapter Mark. This story tells of Jesus welcoming and blessing little children.
Move the disciples so that they are standing in front of Jesus, blocking him.
Jesus saw that the disciples were not letting the children come to him and he was disappointed with them and upset also.
The right hand is gently placed on each childs head as it is symbolic of the blessing.
Jesus then welcomed all the children into his arms and he hugged them. He blessed them; they knew that Jesus loved them because Gods
love was shining in them.
Wonder Questions
-I wonder how it makes you feel when adults send you away from them. Do you feel sad or angry?
-I wonder why did Jesus want to spend time with the little children and bless them.
-I wonder what you think Jesus was talking about when he said to the adults that they need to be more like the children.
-I wonder how did the children feel when they were blessed and hugged by Jesus. Did they feel happy? Did they feel special?
-I wonder if you met Jesus and he blessed you what would you say to him.
-I wonder if you think that children deserve to be blessed just as much as adults.
-I wonder why this story is such a special one. Does it teach us that Jesus loved us all equally?
