1. What is MTO?
MTO (Make to Order) is one of the production approach, where the companies are start
manufacturing the products after they are getting the order form the customer. Due to this
methodology companies can deliver customized products according to customers
specifications. It will increase cycle time to get the product.
2. What is end for ERP?
There is no end for ERP implementation. Because it is an endless process. After go live the
organization to do data conversion, documentation and training review audits and so on. So
there is no end for ERP implementation.

Business process is a set of activities that accomplish the organizational goal. Business process
will depict the entire process of the business and it is a blue print of the whole process.

9. How ERP will affect the organizational structure?
Since an ERP implementation is an ongoing project, it needs a new organizational structure. A
top management representative has to appoint by the organization called the sponsor, for
both the implementation project as well as the post implementation phases. For operation
and maintenance phases a substantial support capability will have to be created. By adding
more people into the existing EDP/ IS/ IT departments can provide the support infrastructure
necessary for the post implementation phases. In this way the ERP will affect organizational
structure.
10. How SCM affects the retailers operations.
SCM enables collaboration, planning, execution and coordination of the entire supply chain,
empowering companies to adapt their supply chain processes to an ever-changing
competitive environment. An SCM system ensures more visibility throughout the supply
chain, fewer surprises and less need to stock back up raw materials or finished goods.
11. How does internet helps the growth of ERP
ERP must be tightly integrated with the Internet, in order to take advantage of that powerful
medium. Since most of the business transactions are conducted over the Internet and most
information is accessed and disseminated over the organizations portal, this media is
becoming important for organizations. With the advancements in encryption technologies
and Internet security, conducting business over the Internet is becoming safer. So extending
the ERP applications to the Internet is the next logical step for organizations. ERP systems are
used to integrate and optimize an organization's internal manufacturing, financial,
distribution and human resource functions. Here Internet will integration of business
processes that extend across an enterprise and its trading partners.

12. What are the metrics used to evaluate performance of the ERP
The following metrics are used to evaluate the performance of ERP.

c. Comprehensible, readily communicated and understood
d. Inexpensive and convenient to compute
e. Timely with data sources readily available
f. Harmless, not inducing inappropriate behavior
13. What are the role of in-house helpdesk after go live
After go live any problem arises from the customer side, the help-desks help top solve the
problems. The customer care executives can answer customer queries quickly and resolve
issues without delay. The Help-desks are repositories of the organizational knowledge and
this is used by the maintenance and support team. The help-desk contains correct operating
practices, problems with the software, how to solve those problem, details of problem reports
and resolution, etc will help the customers to solve the problem.
14. What is data migration
Data migration is the process of translating data from one format to another. Data migration
is necessary when an organization decides to use a new computing system or database
management system that is not compatible with the current system. When implementing a
new ERP system the data in the existing legacy business systems should be migrated to the
ERP systems database for the smooth business operations.
15. Specify the role of webserver in ERP services
In ERP service the webservers plays a major role. Recent trends in ERP are in the Cloud in
which the web servers are having a major role. In e-Business technologies the webservers are
plays a vital role for making business online.
16. Identify the role of BPR in ERP
Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is the fundamental rethinking and radical redesigning
of the business processes. It is not just changebut dramatic change and dramatic
improvements. BPR involves the overhaul of organizational structures, management systems,
job descriptions, performance measurements, skill development, training and most
importantly, the use of information technology. BPR impacts every aspect of how the
organization runs its business.
