 May 6 Personal registration information available in the SDSU WebPortal.

May 15 Fee payments accepted for registration.

May 28 Last day to apply for August 2010 graduation with an advanced degree,
Division of Graduate Affairs.

June New Graduate Student Orientation (online).

July New Student Orientation for freshmen and parents (held at SDSU).

July 1 Applications for bachelor’s degree for May and August 2011 graduation
accepted.

July 2 Final day for submitting theses to the Division of Graduate Affairs for
thesis review to ensure graduation in August 2010.

July 6 - Theses may be submitted to the Division of Graduate Affairs on an at-risk

August 20 basis. However, August 2010 graduation is contingent upon completion of
final processing by noon, August 18. Students missing this deadline will
be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to
graduate.

July 15 Fall 2010 registration begins.

August New Student Orientation for transfer students and parents (held at
SDSU).

August 1 Applications for graduate admission for the spring 2011 semester
accepted from domestic and international (foreign) students. Contact
your department for deadlines.

August 18 Final day for depositing approved theses at Aztec Shops Montezuma
Publishing. (Noon deadline.)

August 20 Final day for submitting theses to the Division of Graduate Affairs without
having to enroll in Thesis 799B the following semester.

August 23 First day of fall semester.

August 25 Last day of registration before classes begin.

August 25 - 26 Faculty/staff advising.

August 26 Faculty and Staff Convocation.

August 27 Last day to officially withdraw for fall semester 2010 and receive a full
refund (less administrative fee if applicable).

August 27 Last day for nonresident (foreign and out-of-state) students to pay
deferred tuition and not incur service charges.

Aug. 27 - Sept. 4 Welcome Week.

August 28 New Student and Family Convocation.

August 30 FIRST DAY OF CLASSES.

 September 6 Holiday— Labor Day.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.

September 9 Last day for faculty to drop students from classes.

September 13 Last day to drop classes. (6 p.m. deadline.)

September 15 Last day to add classes or change grading basis. (6 p.m. deadline.)

September 15 Last day for payment of fees for late registration. (3:30 p.m. deadline.)

September 15 Last day to officially withdraw from the university without penalty fee for
fall semester 2010.

September 15 Last day to file application for bachelor’s degree for December 2010
graduation.

September 15 Last day to file petition for concurrent master’s degree credit for fall
semester 2010.

September 21 Last day to apply for December 2010 graduation with an advanced
degree, Division of Graduate Affairs.

September 27 Census.

October 1 Applications for admission or readmission to San Diego State University

for the fall semester 2011 accepted. Applications are NOT accepted after
November 30 (postmarked). Graduate applicants should consult Graduate
Admissions for closing dates.

TBD Family Weekend.

November 1 Final day for submitting thesis (without risk) to the Division of Graduate
Affairs for thesis review to ensure graduation in December 2010.

November 2 - Theses may be submitted to the Division of Graduate Affairs on an at-risk

December 30 basis. However, December 2010 graduation is contingent upon
completion of final processing by 12 noon, December 17. Students
missing this deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the
term in which they expect to graduate.

November 3 Last day to officially withdraw from all classes for fall 2010 and receive a
prorated refund (withdrawal after September 15 requires special approval
and a penalty fee is assessed).

November 11 Holiday— Veteran's Day.

Faculty/Staff holiday. Campus closed.

November 25 - 26 Holiday— Thanksgiving recess.

Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.

November 30 Last day for submission of incomplete and RP grade removals (excluding
thesis) for December 2010 graduation with an advanced degree.

December 10 Last day of classes before final examinations.

 December 10 Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the
Division of Graduate Affairs by department or college.

December 11 - 18 Final examinations.

December 17 Final day for depositing approved theses at Montezuma Publishing. (Noon
deadline.)

December 24 - 30 Holiday— Winter recess.

Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.

December 30 Last day to apply for a leave of absence for fall semester 2010.

December 30 Grades due from instructors. (11 p.m. deadline.)

December 30 Final day to submit thesis to Division of Graduate Affairs without having
to enroll in Thesis 799B the following semester. (Noon deadline.)

December 30 Last day of fall semester.

December 31 Holiday— New Year’s Day observed.

Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
