The comparative of superiority
Ex.: He speaks English as well as his friend. ( Ele fala Ingls to bem quanto seu amigo.)
Ex.: Spanish is easier than French. ( Espanhol mais fcil do que Francs.)
Ex.: English grammar is much easier than spanish grammar.
( A gramtica inglesa muito mais fcil do que a gramtica espanhola).
Ex.: Spanish grammar is a bit easier than portuguese grammar.
( A gramtica espanhola um pouco mais fcil do que a gramtica portuguesa).
Ex.: English is more interesting than French. ( Ingls mais interessante do que Francs.)
Ex.: English is not so easier than German. ( Ingls no to mais fcil do que Alemo.)
Ex.: He doesnt speak English so bad as his friend. ( Ele no fala Ingls to mal quanto o seu amigo.)

Put in the comparative of superiority:
Old ( velho, antigo )
older than ( mais velho/antigo do que)
Hot (quente)
hotter than ( mais quente do que )
Difficult (difcil)
more difficult than ( mais difcil do que )
Interesting (interessante)
more interesting than (mais interessante do que)
Put in the comparative of equality
Expensive (caro)
as expensive as ( to caro quanto )
Boring (chato/ tediante)
as boring as ( to chato/tediante quanto)
Put in the comparative of inferiority
Funny (divertido)
less funny than (menos divertido do que )
Large ( enorme, grande, amplo)
less large than ( menos enorme do que )
Put in the superlative of superiority:
old (velho, antigo)
the oldest ( o mais velho/antigo)
hot (quente)
the hottest ( o mais quente)
difficult (difcil)
the most difficult ( o mais difcil)
interesting (interessante)

EXPRESSIONS WITH COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE FORMS
LIKE AND AS
A palavra like pode tambm ser usada para comparar duas coisas , quando queremos dizer
que essas duas coisas so similares de alguma forma.
Ex .: He runs like the wind. ( Ele corre como o vento.)
Ex.: She looks like you. ( Ela se parece com voc.)
A palavra as usada para explicar o emprego a a funo de pessoas ou coisas.
Ex.: She works as a TV actor. ( Ela trabalha como um ator de televiso.)
Ex.: You can use this box as a seat. (Voc pode usar esta caixa como um assento.)
