A. Topic: Text Types
B. Materials: Instructional Materials, Pen and Paper
C. Reference/s: K to 12 Grade 9 Teachers Manual

III. Procedure
A. Pre-activity
1. Give the following words: informative, journalistic and literary.
2. Ask the students the about things that can be associated with the
terms given.

B. During Activity
1. Introduce the topic Text Types to the students.
2. The lesson will be presented through a power point presentation.
Task

1. After talking about the different text types, let the students write their own
informative text by writing an introduction.
2. Check each students introduction and ask them to proceed in writing a full
informative text.

C. Generalization
What are the different text types and their purpose?

D. Application
Write informative, journalistic and literary texts.

E. Evaluation
1. It is the kind of text that gives information to the reader.
2. The type of journalistic text that goes straight to the point.
3. The type of journalistic text that focuses on human interest
4. Novels and poems: What type of text?

IV. Assignment
Review for the long test next meeting.
