FLUCTUATING MUTATIONS

Misko Pavlovic: Paintings, Works on paper, collages

In the Visual Arts at the end of the eighties, the loosening of
distinctions between compositional principles emerged in various
intensities. It was obvious that The Art of Making and Accomplishing
a Painting, as a trademark of a decade, came to the manner of new
highly personal departures. Throughout European painting practise
in diverse social and geography circumstances in the nineties,
bursted and generated a new psychological and emotional desires
of an individual. Misko Pavlovic s paintings have ties precisely to
that type of artistical swing. While his images can recall existential
anxieties from previous decades of European past, their appearence
is concentrated into turbulent centrifugal handwork that provides a
extraordinary playful sense.
Although their thematic background can be detected from
suggested mythological forces and creatures, a rather experimental
difference of textures provides rich effects. The luminous quality of
considerate care to organic movement gives a notable vigour and
flexibility to his works. Use of expressive colour patches and marks
prove such realizations of turbulent passionate surfaces addressed
to surprising remembrances. An intriguing result is achieved leaning
heavily into feelings of instability somehow pertinent in the newly
returned facts of life in turnaround of centuries. Corresponding to
aspects of inner sensibility in opposing harsh colour planes and
bravura use of white brushstroke, Pavlovics Paintings, as well as his
works on paper or collages create an inextricable reality of
expressiveness. By such means of juxtaposing of events, shadows
and motions, he achieves an expansive potential that is often more
important then mere searching for truth. The fascination of
refinement of its contents and dynamic fairy tale parts - sometimes
in applicated material - follows a reinforcement of creative
enjoyment.
While suspending a direct visual narrative Misko Pavlovic creates his
images toward extreme assemblies. Twists of dynamics, splits and
breaches of impulsive colour signs and particles struck in most of
his shaped paper planes and canvases. Cultivated painterly skill
offers even exuberant explosion of colour that provide a wit but
through its rarefied atmosphere confirms something else: alert
situation distributed through postmodern transparency of evil that
lurks in contemporary world.
