PROGRAMS & FEES

Pre-CanSkate

This is a great starter program teaching the fundamentals of skating for Hockey and Ringette.

10-week program starting Monday, October 2 and again on Monday, January 8
5:40 - 6:05 pm on Monday & Thursday nights
Cost: $110 for one night or $200 for both nights (plus SkateCanada and Club fees)
Lessons are given in a group format led by an NCCP certified professional coach with assistance from
trained Program Assistants.

CanSkate

This program is an ideal supplement to build basic skating skills for hockey.

22-week program starting Monday, September 18 and Thursday, September 21
5:30-6:20 pm on Monday & Thursday nights
Cost: Stage 1-5 is $380 for one night or $562 for both nights (plus SkateCanada and Club fees)
Cost: Stage 6 is $500 for one night or $700 for both nights (plus SkateCanada and Club fees)
Lessons are given in a group format led by an NCCP certified professional coach. Coaches are assisted by
trained Program Assistants. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using
teaching aids, music and circuits that create a fun environment and promote learning.

Stage 5 Rising Star

22-week program offered to Stage 5 skaters who would like more ice time by participating with the
StarSkaters
6:30 - 8:20 pm Monday nights, 6:20 - 7:20 pm Thursday nights
Cost: $50 for one night and $65 for both nights (in addition to CanSkate, SkateCanada and Club fees)

Cost: $500 for one night and $700 for both nights (plus SkateCanada and Club fees)
Thursday nights include an off-ice component from 5:30 - 6:15 pm. Monday night only skaters can add in
the Thursday off-ice component for an additional $125.
The StarSkate program offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to continue to develop fundamental
figure skating skills in the areas of dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Skills are
taught in a group lesson format with the balance of the time being left for self-development. Private
lessons can be arranged directly with a professional coach of your choice.
FUNDRAISING FEES

Fundraising is vital to keep registration costs down and we require the involvement of all families in our
fundraising events. On registration, your family is charged a fundraising fee Pre-Can $50 per skater,
CanSKate/StarSkate $100 per skater (to a maximum of $150 per family). During the year, we will run a fundraising
event to give you the opportunity to earn back the fundraising fee you paid.

The Club is also looking for corporate sponsors to supplement the fundraising activities. If you know of any
businesses that would like to support the Club, please contact a Board member for our sponsor package.

Fees Example based on single Skater to a household

SKATE CANADA FEES

Each skater is charged a mandatory $35 SkateCanada fee which is paid directly to SkateCanada and includes
insurance coverage for any on-ice incidents as well as fees paid to SOCAN.

PAYMENT

We accept cash, cheque and credit. Please note an additional processing fee is charged on all credit card
payments.
On registration, the Skate Canada fee, the Fundraising Fees and 50% of the program fees are due. The
remaining program fees are due by December 1, 2017. We will accept post-dated cheques for the portion

EQUIPMENT

All skaters must provide their own skates. Warm clothing should be worn that permits movement.
Pre-CanSkate and CanSkate Level 1 to 5 must wear CSA approved helmets according to Skate Canada
policy.
