4. USA at the CROSSROADS
Silvana and I had the opportunity to observe the church
response to the USA Supreme Court 5 to 4 decision to
legalise same-sex homosexual marriage even though
various States voted against Same-Sex marriage.
During our July Tour of the USA we were disappointed
at the acceptance of that Supreme Court decision by only
one extra vote 5 to 4.
There were NO protest rallies no righteous anger only
a Spirit of acceptance, of compromise We must not allow
Australia to slip into this attitude this spirit of apathy - this
compromise this situation.
If Australia is the last nation to oppose same-sex
homosexual marriage, so be it! To the Glory of
God!
5. ATTENDED CHURCH SERVICE
AT THE PRESIDENTS CHURCH IN
WASHINGTON, USA:
After previously inspecting the White House, we walked
across the road to the Historic Presidents Church which
was constructed in 1816. The majority of USA Presidents
have attended this historic Protestant Episcopal (Anglican)
Church and has pews set aside for the Presidents, when they
attend.
Our 1,000 local people regard St Johns as their Parish
church.
The Rector Rev. Dr. Luis Leon gave Silvana and I a
warm Christian welcome to the Holy Eucharist Morning
Church Service which is located at LA FAYETTE Square

We were very pleased that the procedural Motion to
debate the repeal the Obmamacare has been passed by
a majority of one Vote by Vice President Mike Pence.
We give glory to Almighty God for this victory against
all the Democratic Party Senators.
This victory will also strengthen President Trumps
position and hopefully lead to further victories
concerning Tax Reform, Immigration Reform, Abortion
Reform and the USA campaign against Radical Islamic
Terrorism.

The debate about same sex
marriage is really about the human
being. It is not about a specific
group of persons but about each
and every one of us: what we are,
could be, and should be. It does not
fit within the right-left divide of
politics, but within the conflict of Craig Hall

question is rather, which of these two views should be the moral
perimeter or moral constitution of right-left politics in general.

The matter is described as a clash between two world-
views as the academics like to say, or points of view a clash
between Abrahamic, Judeo-Christian world-view and the

view claims the right to free choice in a democratic society
as long as it doesnt hurt anyone, while the Christian view
claims the responsibility of free choice bounded within a
democratic spiritual morality.
The matter is seen and labelled as progressive if you favour
the same sex marriage, and old fashioned or restricted if you
dont but if it is progressive, it should be new.
Same sex attraction would seem to be as old as human kind,
as the Old Testament narrative mentions it specifically; You
shall not lie with a male as with a woman - Lev 18:22 While
much is made around condemning people for doing these things,
the real context is the departing from what something actually
is, which becomes a deception, not only to oneself but to others,
and further from a theological anthropology view, is a departure
or moving away from Gods creation order, from Gods norms or
absolutes. The modern world seeks not only to overturn biblical
absolutes but even scientific ones too, like male and female the
science view is so confused now that it seeks to overturn its own
foundation of the Big Bang theory.
The New testament biblical world was full of every sort of
distortion and practice, evident when we read ancient texts and
writings, and as Paul alludes to; do not go out of your way seeking
to sin. We know also that the Graeco-Roman world was one
where lives were short, where the gods did not deliver salvation,
and the pursuit of pleasure was seen as a noble thing. Any form
of pleasure was seen as exploring all that life had to offer. The
self or individual I was the primary undercurrent of thought

amidst these distortions, the ancient world held on to one thing

then humanity would not produce children and would die out.
This fact alone tells us that while we may feel compassion for
same sex attracted people we know, our compassion does not
justify changing a divine order of biology.

Been to a wedding lately? Wedding celebrations evolve and
modernise over time. They might be more outdoor and more
casual than they were before. But youll still notice that woven
through the whole ceremony are elements of opposites.
It might be the groom is in a dark suit, the bride in white.
The groomsmen are waiting at the altar, the bridesmaids are
yet to arrive. The bride has her father accompany her down the
aisle. His family is on one side, hers are on the opposite side.
He is male, she is female.
A wedding celebrates the union of not just slight diversity
but often opposites. It is only when the groom turns to his left
and the bride turns to her right that they are facing each other.
And it is the joining of opposites that produce the main fruit of
a marriage; the reproduction is not just of one or the other, it is of
what a couple can do, that both singles could not. There is nothing
homogenous about marriage it is heterogeneous by its very nature.
Therein lies the challenge, the power, the beauty, the joy!
Everything about marriage has elements of diversity.
Before the great love chapter of 1 Corinthians 13, so often
read at weddings, the apostle is talking to them about valuing
diversity. Diversity is the core design feature that makes even
our physical body function, as well as the church and marriage.

interesting fact that societies which recognise
that every individual matters to the Creator and
therefore must matter to others, have developed
laws seeking to protect all humans against unjust
treatment (e.g. see the Magna Carta).
Those who do not want to be influenced
by a religious position can still accept that the
value of every individual is far greater than
any religious argument. It is indeed that unique
foundation which assures us of the importance
of every person, so we can base our own life-
philosophy on this known foundation. It is this
foundation which pushes governments to put
in place laws which seek to protect children,
punish abusers for discrimination of any kind,
require limitation of wars and encourage
people to help those in desperate need.
Part of this foundation promotes that
two genders were created and exist with the
view of providing a means for committed
relationships and re-creation. So the Judeo-
Christian community has a firm basis for
arguing the uniqueness of male and female
created to both care for the creation and to be
fruitful (see Genesis Chap.1v27-28). The right
to promote this foundational position for the
whole community is to protect people including
children. The failure of this requirement is
a source of deep concern for us all, but this
concern needs to be rooted in the law enabling
legal action to be exercised.
It is for this reason that anyone regardless
of religious inheritance can accept the special
meaning of the term marriage and that civil
union is an acceptable alternative which in
the current situation may need more specific
definition.

* Marriage is not just a purely private or personal
arrangement.
* The institution of marriage has always had two main

-A public recognition and regulation of human
sexuality between a man and a woman.
A socially recognised means by which children are
brought into the world and cared for.
* Marriage has always been about a sexual relationship
between one adult man and one adult woman.

on how things went at the Annual Dinner: Firstly, we
had even more than a full table! We heard about the
impact CDP is having, Rev Fred Nile, Paul Green
MLC and Rev Dr Ross Clifford came by our table
to say hello, and we were inspired by the keynote
speaker. It was a great night!
On the 14th of July, our first Young CDP intern,
Julia, completed her internship! It was an honour and
a pleasure to present her with a graduation certificate
and invite her to continue her involvement with the
party. Julia, thank you for your enthusiasm. You are
such a blessing to have around, and I look forward to
seeing the awesome things that the Lord has planned
for your future.

Homosexual Marriage
* By equating any and all types of relationships with
marriage, we effectively abolish both the idea and
the meaning of marriage.
* The same arguments used to justify same-sex
marriages can be used to justify polygamy,
incest, bestiality, group sex, and so on. Once the
fundamental idea of marriage as one man and one
woman is tossed out, any and all types of sexual
activity become permissible.
* Homosexuals comprise a very small portion of
Australian society, and homosexuals who want to
marry make up an even smaller number.
* The real aim of campaigning for same-sex marriage
is the symbolic approval and social recognition of the
homosexual lifestyle.
*Most homosexuals admit that their understanding
of marriage differs from the normal heterosexual
understanding, with the willingness to allow extra-
marital sexual outlets.

 Tuesday 1st
Pray for courage and strength for Godly men
and women in our Parliaments to speak truth
into the debate with their colleagues concerning
Gods gift of marriage - only between a man and
woman. Pray for integrity and a positive influence
of Gods people for the good of all throughout
all Government departments, that the Parliament
would be a strong force for good in all areas of
policy, especially the vital issue of marriage.
Wednesday 2nd
Pray for a gracious Christian presence and influence
in political debate, for the wise explanation of
Gods truth in the public square. Pray for our two
Christian Democratic Party Members, Rev Hon
Fred Nile MLC and Hon Paul Green MLC, as they
hold fast to the Word of God in the NSW Upper
House.
Thursday 3rd
Pray for our government to put a high value upon
one of the most moral issues of our time - the
integrity of marriage for affection, companionship
and the nurture of children. Pray also that there
would be a return to the respect and protection for
the unborn and the elderly. Pray for the protection
of the Marriage Act as currently embraced in
Australia: marriage between a man and a woman
only.
Friday 4th
When a couple speaks their vows, it is not a man
or a woman or a pastor or parent who is the main
actorthe main doer. God is. God joins a husband
and a wife into a one-flesh union. The world does
not know this. Which is one of the reasons why
marriage is treated so casually. (John Piper). Let
us pray today for a re-awakening to the wonder
of marriage vows as illustrated in Scripture. Jesus
Christ knew He would have to pay for His bride
with His own blood. He called this relationship the
new covenant This cup that is poured out for you
is the new covenant in my blood (Luke 22:20).
Saturday 5 th
Pray that our Government would have compassion
and wisdom in processing and caring for asylum
seekers, whilst carefully sifting those who seek our
shelter. Pray that those who hold to other faiths,
would have the opportunity in Australia to hear
gospel of Jesus Christ and His power to change
lives from death to life.
Sunday 6th
Pray today for our children who may be confused
and manipulated by media and leadership reports
concerning misleading compassion for those who
wish to marry same-sex partners. Pray that Gods provide SRE in our public schools. Pray for the
word would penetrate deeply into young hearts,
that His word alone would speak truthfulness
and conviction into young minds that are seeking
genuine teaching and understanding.
Monday 7th
Praise the Lord today for His wonderful revelation
and invitation to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Pray for revelation for those who so far are living
a lie, including those in the church, and who will
not be invited to enter the gates of the city. Pray
for many to receive understanding and eternal life,
turning away from everything that separates them
from God (Revelation 22:12-15).
Tuesday 8th
Give thanks for the message that Stan Goodenough
will bring to Australia this month and pray for his
safety and health. Pray that Australian and New
Zealand believers would cry out for their nations
not to be aligned with anti-God forces that would
change the course of the destiny paid for through
the great ANZAC sacrifices of a century ago.
Pray for blessing upon our nations (Genesis 12:3;
Matthew 25:31-46).
Wednesday 9 th
Pray for those who have been affected in recent or
ongoing terror attacks. Pray for all those who have
had to leave the homelands they love might find
welcome, hospitality and loving care in far-away
places with people they do not know but who will
love them in Jesus name and for His sake.

As for us, we cant help but
thank God for you, dear brothers
and sisters loved by the Lord. We are
always thankful that God chose you
to be among the first to experience
salvationa salvation that came
through the Spirit who makes you
holy and through your belief in the
truth. He called you to salvation
when we told you the Good News; now you can
share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. With
all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters,
stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching
we passed on to you both in person and by letter.
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God
our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us
eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you
and strengthen you in every good thing you do and
say (2 Thessalonians 2:13-17).
When Jesus gave a glimpse of the magnificent
view of marriage that God willed for His people,
the disciples said to Him, If such is the case of
a man with his wife, it is better not to marry
(Matthew 19:10). In other words, Christs vision
of the meaning of marriage was so enormously
different from that of the disciples, they could not
imagine it to be a good thing.

of same-sex marriage. Pray for individuals and
the nation to wash its robes in the blood of Jesus
Christ, making itself ready for the coming of the
Bridegroom (Revelation 19:7-9).

Let us pray for the Lords hand over our own
nation, that He would bless our land with ongoing
peace and protection. Pray for a return to the Lord
and His ways But whoever listens to me will dwell
safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil
(Proverbs 1:33).
Sunday 13th
Praise the Lord for the ongoing opportunities to
remind ourselves today that Jesus desires to lift
volunteer teachers as they prepare lessons. Pray
for our children to come to know that they are
greatly loved and precious to God the Father, who
knew them before they were knit together in their
mothers wombs.
Monday 14th
Praise the Lord for todays Christian Worldview
with special speaker Stan Goodenough who will
bring a timely message for this year of 2017, the
centenary of the charge at Beersheba in 1917.
Pray for health and safety for Stan as he delivers
his God-given message for the ANZAC nations to
continue to stand with Israel in the intense spiritual
battle.
Tuesday 15th
Pray today for those suffering in war and violence.
Pray especially for evil-doers, that they would
have a personal encounter with the Living Lord
and turn from violence to treating their fellow man
with love, dignity and respect.
Wednesday 16th
Pray for those we know serving in mission here
and overseas. Pray that they would have their
needs met financially and for the needs of their
families. Pray for those serving the Lord in
dangerous areas that the Lord would give them
supernatural protection and increased victory in
their service for Him.
Thursday 17th
Let us hold fast to Gods admonition to fear not but
more will the magnificence of
marriage in the mind of God
seem unintelligible in a modern
Western culture. Jesus would
probably say to us today, when
He had finished opening the
mystery for us, the same thing
He said in His own day: Not
everyone can receive this saying,
but only those to whom it is
given. Let the one who is able to
receive this receive it (Matthew
19:1112).
Christ knew He would have
to pay for His bride with His own blood. He called
this relationship the new covenant: This cup that
is poured out for you is the new covenant in my
blood (Luke 22:20). This is what Paul is referring
to when he says that marriage is a great mystery: I
am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.

Friday 18th
Praise the Lord today that in spite of increasing
worldwide violence and deception, nothing that is
happening in our world today is a surprise to God
- He is in control. Give thanks for teachers and
preachers who teach directly from the inherent,
unchangeable Scriptures.
Saturday 19th
It is said that by failing to pray - you set yourself
up to fail. The reason Jesus never failed is because
He never failed to pray. Note the times when
He prayed: when His heart was heavy. Praise
the Lord today for His understanding of heavy
times, including the death of a loved one. Let us
our burdens, praising Him that all burdens were
lifted at Calvary. When Jesus heard what had
happened He withdrew privately to a solitary
place (Matthew 14:13).
Sunday 20th
Pray for the strengthening of and faithfulness
to marriage vows and for increased love within
marriages (Ephesians5:25-27). Keeping covenant
with our spouse is as important as telling the truth
about Gods covenant with us in Jesus Christ.
Marriage is not mainly about being or staying in
love. Its mainly about telling the truth with our
lives. Its about portraying something true about
Jesus Christ and the way He relates to His people.
It is about showing in real life the glory of the
Gospel (John Piper).
Monday 21st
Read Philippians 2:2-4 where the apostle Paul
encourages us to act out of love, live in harmony
and be of one mind. Strife wreaks havoc in
relationships. Pray today for our own relationships,
especially within our families. Pray for increased
patience, humility and love that will overcome
any feelings of comparing, competing or putting
ourselves first. And those who are peacemakers
will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of
righteousness (James 3:17-18).
Tuesday 22nd
Let us take joy today in the wonder and knowledge
that as our hope is in the Lord, He hears and
understands our deepest prayer concerns. Pray
without ceasing for our nation that the decisions
made by our leaders would be pleasing and
acceptable to God Joyful are those whose hope
is in the Lord their God (Psalm 146:5).
Wednesday 23rd
Praise the Lord for the knowledge that Jesus died
for sinners. He made an imperfect bride His own
with the price of His blood and covered her with
the garments of His own righteousness. He said,
I am with you to the end of the age . I will
never leave you nor forsake you (Matthew 28:20,
Hebrews 13:5). Marriage is meant by God to put
that Gospel reality on display in the world (John
Piper). Pray today for revival across our nation,
that the beauty of Christ would impact and heal
our decaying and increasingly permissive land.
Thursday 24th
(Read Psalm 42:1-2). Let us pray today for a
deeper, closer walk with Jesus and let His Spirit
flow through us, until that day when we will meet
Him face to face. Oh, that we all may drink of
these life-giving heavenly streams, drink again
and again, drink deeply and be satisfied.
Friday 25th
(Read Titus 3:14). The apostle Paul spoke of the
need for followers of Christ to remain diligent and
disciplined. He told Titus to preach self-discipline
to the Cretans. Lazy Christians are not effective
Christians. Let us pray today for the Lord to
empower us to be diligent, salty Christians in our
walk of faith.
Saturday 26th
Praise the Lord today for the Christian Democratic
Party and especially for the two elected Members
in the NSW Legislative Council. Pray for wisdom,
courage and the ability to discern Gods best in all
legislation for Rev Hon Fred Nile MLC and Hon
Paul Green MLC.
Sunday 27th
Pray again today for those suffering for their
Christian faith in many places. Pray for children
that are witnessing things a child should never
see. Pray for protection from long-term emotional
harm and bitterness, that all children would feel
the strong arms of Jesus surrounding them and that
they would be immune from corrective teaching.
Monday 28th
Pray for Christians who are being harassed,
unjustly accused, summarily arrested and
sometimes imprisoned for their faith. Pray that
they would remain strong in their faith and trust,
despite physical and psychological abuse. Pray
that their witness would speak powerfully to their
persecutors.
Tuesday 29th
Give thanks for rain that has fallen across our
continent. Pray for good rain over this coming
spring and summer and for blessing over the still
drought affected areas of our nation. Give thanks
for each drop of rain, all of which comes from the
Fathers hand.
Wednesday 30th
Pray again today for God to overrule any attempt
to interfere with Gods pattern of marriage, this
blessing that exists for Gods glory. Praise the Lord
for His idea of marriage which is patterned after
Christs covenant relationship to His redeemed
people, the church. I will rejoice greatly in the
LORD, My soul will exult in my God; For He
has clothed me with garments of salvation, He
has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As
a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And
as a bride adorns herself with her jewels (Isaiah
61:10).
Thursday 31st
Let us end our month of prayer as we began by
continuing to pray for our government. Pray for the
Prime Minister and his Ministers that they would
display wisdom, integrity, truth and compassion as
they govern for all people in Australia. Pray that
they would be a leading, strong force for good and
hold fast to the promised plebiscite on marriage.
Pray that our nation would stand strongly with
Israel.

Grace & Past Failures
The Bible says: Brethren, I count not myself to have
apprehended it, but this one thing I do: forgetting those things
which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which
are before, (Philippians 3:13)
Failure is normal, natural and a common occurrence in life.
No one is exempt from it nor is anyone immune to it. There
is NOT a nutrition supplement or a medicine you can take to
prevent failure.
Failures of the past, theyre either one long miserable life
sentence or many short inspiring life lessons. The wise learn
from the past and leaves it behind where it belongs. The foolish
neither learns from it nor leaves it alone. Instead they live in it
and relive it over and over.
The wonderful grace of Jesus equips us and empowers us
not only to acknowledge and address our own imperfection
and failures, but also to accept the imperfection and failures
of others and allow them the freedom and opportunity to
acknowledge and address it themselves. No wonder we call
it amazing.
People, whove experienced Gods amazing grace and now
view life through the lenses of grace, see imperfection and
failures in a totally different light than those who have not.
So how can we tell whether were in the class of the wise
or the category of the foolish? Let me offer the following 12
observations:
1 The wise have now experienced forgiveness from God (and
others) and expresses it freely to others. The foolish are still
holding on to bitterness.
2. The wise is now grateful to God (and others) for His amazing
grace.The foolish are still angry at God (and others) for

 Winning the Battle for Traditional Marriage
between a Male and a Female

There was a time when the most effective way of achieving
success in the area of public policy was to have the best
arguments. Sadly, however, that is no longer the case, as
people are more swayed by their emotions and by misguided
understandings of love, compassion and tolerance and, as to
politicians, their perception of the numbers.
Love is now commonly understood in terms of what feels
good to me, what satisfies me and how I can be fulfilled in a
relationship in reality, more consistent with lust. The love of
which Jesus spoke the love that should be reflected in our
relationships, however, is characterised by sacrifice; of putting
the interests of the other above your own. As each partner in a
marriage exercise these traits, the relationship is strengthened
and the children born of that marriage are nurtured into
relational maturity.
Compassion does not mean removing boundaries and
endorsing behaviour that is either unhelpful or perhaps even
destructive. True compassion actually encourages growth
within appropriate boundaries, and warns of dangers. And in
order to be truly tolerant, I first need to have made a decision
that I disagree with you or your conduct; it certainly doesnt
mean that I must agree with you, and be silent if I dont.
If success in public policy still depended upon having the
best arguments, the battle for man-woman marriage would
have already been won, as credible research highlights the
physical and mental health consequences of the homosexual
lifestyle. However, we can see from the experience in many
Western democracies that credible research has not prevented
the erosion of true marriage as ordained by God. Does that
mean we should ignore research; that we should no longer make
our appeal based on the best arguments? By our personal faith as essential to our core
