Picture this: you, a law-abiding citizen (or maybe not?), is put in the position
of possibly executing a criminal, whose offenses could be handled through a legal
court and dealt with properly. Your motive could be anythingpunishment,
revenge, retaliation, or for whatever reason. The question is: would you pull the
trigger?
The act of killing in general is not suitable unless given some ethical reason
as to why it was justified. If there is no pertinence, it really is an act of crime and
degradation of general safety for the general public. More often than so, countless
police officers (or any person for that matter) would kill a personwho lives and
breathes without a second thought because (surprise!) their actions would be
considered as an extrajudicial killing (EJK), that they insist should be labeled as
deaths under investigation, which is ironic since EJK is the act of killing a person
done by governmental authorities without due process which is the oppurtunity
to be heard and given a fair trial.
These days, anybody can kill anybody; all you need is a pen and some paper,
to rule out the deceased as a drug addict or any kind of criminal. Police officers even
took it upon themselves to irupt into the hostile territory of these suspected drug
users, quickly killing them on the spot with an excuse of defending themselves,
relaying that the suspects were armed and had blasted them firsr, and among others
results that had the criminals be filled with a fusillade of bullets. Hardly anyone
believes this nonsense, but its appalling, at the same time amusing, that these
officers who offered their lives to serve the people could tell it with a straight
face infront of the media.
Life is what every human holds dear to them, therefore, killing is the most
selfish thing one can do because they deprive a person the right to live while they,
themselves, are still walking the earth. Thus, there is a need to renew the system, as
it has been said for countless of times. These people should be given a fair trial
before their lives are put at stake. Every person should have the oppurtunity to fight
fot their lives, no matter what the reason for their conviction.
