Eye Exam Blood Pressue Screening Rapid HIV Test

To measure the sharpness of a
persons vision a visual acuity test
will be preformed.
A standardized chart or card held
20 feet away are placed in front of
the person. He will then be asked to
cover one eye with the palm of their
hand, while the nurse reads out loud
the smallest line of letters you can
see on the chart.
High blood pressure usually has no
symptoms and cannot be detected
without being measured.
Blood pressure measures the force a
persons blood is putting on the artery
walls as the heart pumps.
A pressure cuff is placed around the
persons upper arm to monitor both
diastolic and systolic blood pressure.
HIV virus affects a persons
immune system.
Rapid HIV test results are
ready in 30 minutes or less.
Rapid HIV screenings involve
taking blood with a finger prick or
swabbing saliva to measure antibodies.

Hearing Exam Flu Shot

Pure-tone audiometry testing measures tones across
the speech spectrum (500 to 4,000 Hz) to determine if
the persons hearing level falls within normal limits.
Pure-tone audiometry helps physicians
appropriately refer patients to an audiologist or
otolaryngologist.
Pure-tone audiometric testing determines a
persons hearing levels with the help of an audiometer,
It also measures the persons ability to discriminate
between different sounds intensities, recognize pitch,
or distinguish speech from background noise.
Influenza or the flu is a serious sickness that can
lead to hospitalization and sometimes death.
Flu vaccines work by causing antibodies
to develop in the body about two weeks after the
vaccinations. These antibodies provide protection against
infection with the viruses that are in the vaccine.
Seasonal flu vaccines protect against the
influenza viruses that research indicates will be most
common during the upcoming season.
A simple shot of the flu vaccinated will be
injected into the persons upper arm.
