Technology Standard Addressed: Knowledge Constructor. Students critically curate a variety of resources
using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts and make meaningful learning
experiences for themselves and others.
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
I will start by explaining the importance of knowing the common polyatomic ions. Being able to recognize
these will help students when given word problems and the equation for the ion is not written out. Knowing
the formula will allow students to determine atomic mass and help with balancing equations.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
Assess prior knowledge Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) To illuminate common
misconceptions Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) Summative assessment of content knowledge Test preparation
Survey/Poll Discussion starter Homework collection Other (please explain):
If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10): Please

Student Response and Assessment Tools
Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?
Yes No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? The purpose of this student response tool is to help students learn and memorize common
polyatomic ions; Quizlet will automatically show the correct answer.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity? The activity allows me to assess what students know
and what needs to be revisited. Therefore, after the class finishes the activity, I will be able to assess what
needs to happen next, whether we move on or continue to work towards memorization.
How will the data be used? The data will only be collected for my benefit to assess where my students are
and will be used by the individual student to see their own mastery of the ions.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. The ultimate goal of this activity is to help students
memorize common polyatomic ions.
