1. Scope of work
This method statement covers works relating to the Duct works. Works will be carried
out based on the construction schedules and the approved shop drawings. The
objective is to safety and correctly installs in accordance with the approved Safety Plan
and the Specification requirements.

2. Document Reference

The following are applicable to this method statement

3. Material/Sequence of work
3.1 Materials
The following, including but not limited to the materials shown below are planned to be
utilized for the works. The quantities shown are taken from the Tender and are provided
for reference. The final quantities will be estimated based on the Approved Shop
Drawings.

Material types: will be based on documents submitted by BK and approved by ATC/


owner.

3.2. Preparation

The following activities will be conducted before starting the works:

- The workers will be instructed about safety matters.


- The workers will be instructed on how to properly handle according the correct
sequence for work execution.
- The works will be done and checked according the approved shop-drawings.

3.3 Sequence of work

3.3.1 General methodology

Rectangular ductwork to be fabricated and installed according to table 1


Duct to be constructed and insulated at the factory of Bach Khoa before delivery
to site
The size of duct to be compliance with the approved shop drawings
Duct to be anchored securely to the structure slab or framing of the building
Supports to be attached to duct using screws or bolt to prevent slippage
Duct joints to be Transverse Duct Connector (TDC) joint
Using 5 mm thickness and 20 ~ 30 mm wide rubber gasket for flange joint,
tighten the corner by bolt
Duct sealant to be applied to duct joint and seams to ensure no air leakage.

3.3.2 Fabricate duct at factory


Rectangular ductwork to be fabricated from full size galvanized coil or sheets

Sealing all gap on duct by sillicone

Insulating the air duct.

Cleaning the duct (inside and outside)

Delivery to site.

3.3.3 Installation duct at site

Installing the hanging support following the shopdrawing.

Hanging support and distance are installed following the instruction in


table 1

Pasting the gasket on both of duct flange

Install several ducts into sections below.

Lifting up every duct section on the support and combining together

Adjusting the balance and straight of all support

Leakage test main duct

4. Organization chart & Responsibilities
4.1 Organization chart (sa li s t chc cng trng cho ng: gim

4.2 Responsibilities

4.2.1 Site Manager


Manage the entire operation of the site including safety, quality, project progress

4.2.2 HSE Manager

Will implement the requirement of the BK Site Health and Safety


Management Plan and Safety Management System in all Project work
activity.

Will ensure that personnel are issued with and use the appropriate
personal protective equipment (PPE).

Will listen to the health and safety concerns of Project personnel and
respond quickly.

Will ensure all employees receive health and safety induction training
before commencing work on the Site.

Will address all reported substandard practices and substandard


conditions immediately.

Will carry out assessment for all work involving hazardous substances.
Will consult and cooperate with the Site Safety and Environment Manager
regarding health and safety.

Will carry out risk assessments for all work operations: formal risk
assessments will be carried out with advice from the Site Safety and
Environmental Manager.

Will ensure that all accidents are reported.

4.2.3 Team leader

Will provide effective health and safety leadership of team.

Will ensure that all plant and equipment is in good and safe operating
condition and serviced in accordance with legal requirements and the
manufactures or suppliers instructions, prior to being placed into service
on the Site.

Will ensure that all plants and equipment is inspected and serviced at the
intervals required by legislation and the manufacturers instructions.

Will include health and safety as an agenda item at all management and
team meetings.

Will consider health and safety during all work planning.

Will ensure that all electrical equipment and plant is inspected by a


competent electrician at intervals.

4.2.4 Woker

Will work in a safe manner.

Will not deliberately expose themselves or others to risk.

Will take care of their personal health and safety.

Will use the correct equipment and tools for the job.

Will use the health and safety equipment and personal protective
equipment (PPE) provided. Hardhats, hi-viz jacket/ strip and safety shoes
will be worn in construction areas at all times.
Will not temper with electrical equipment, safety or fire fighting
equipment.

Will warn new personnel of known hazards and risks.

Will refrain from horseplay.

Will propose ways of eliminating hazards and of controlling risks.

Will correct substandard practices when requested.

Will report all substandard conditions, incidents/ accidents and dangerous


weapons identified to their manager or supervisor.

Will obey all health and safety instruction, rules and regulations.

6 Specific Safety Requirements & Precaution Measures
6.1 General
All safety equipment, personal protective equipments (PPE) such as clothes,
safety shoes, helmet, gloves, safety glasses shall be provided before entry the
site and regularly checked during construction.
Tools and equipments shall be inspected by authorized person before carrying
out to work.
BK safety supervisor shall be in first priority during installation, safety supervisor
shall be present on site all the time to supervise and to remind workers to
observe safety requirements. Stop work order shall enforce once it does not
meet the safety requirement.
Insulation work and insulation securing for air duct shall be done at ground or
Bach khoa factory
When using diamond cutter, workers must wear gloves, eyes goggle and face
shield.
Temporary barricade and sign post shall be set up at area of site work.
Rubbish, waster materials is to be placed in bins or in dearly defined and marked
areas on site.
All equipments, materials shall be arranged correctly for transport and store.
The workshop is to be cleaned daily and rubbish removed.

6.2 Working at Elevated area


Ensure every worker to wear PPE & use safety harness when working at
more than 2m height.
Use of scaffold shall be only on level and firm ground.
Scaffolds shall be tied to prevent movement at the top.
Safety protected handrail on top layer of scaffolding shall be provided.
Scaffolding and ladders shall be provided and be ready to use at any time in
order to prepare for all contingencies.
6.3 Working with Electrical Equipments
When using diamond cutter, workers must wear gloves and face shield.
Extension wires shall be hanged to right position to prevent short circuit and
electric shock.
Extension wires and Electrical Equipment should be provided always with
terminal plug.

8 Repair / Remedial methods
All duct, fittings, accessorieswill be repaired and replaced or reinstalled if it is
not correct size, diameter, thickness, position, levelper approved shop drawing.
If leakage found at joints and connections, joints shall be repaired and leakage
test will be conducted again.
9. Plant and Equipment & Tools

The following list is to be used, including but not limited to the equipment shown

below, are planned to be utilized for the works

- Hand drill machine - Table drill machine - Welded machine

- Scaffoldings - Spirit level - Disc cutter machine

- Hammer - Ruler - Mark pen
