Background/Information
Background - A drone is technological aircraft,
known as a unmanned aerial vehicles or unmanned
aircraft systems. Drone is flying robot which can be
control by a remote or can also fly autonomously.
Nowadays, drone was created for observing, spying but
mostly use for bird eyes view photography.
Introduction - In our project, drone was created for
demonstrate how the electricity and air friction work. So
we wont make the remote because we dont have to
control it. We just show that the drone can fly. Our group
will place the stick to be base and put the drone in the
middle of the stick. Then we put a bottle cap on the top
of the stick so the drone not fly away.
Materials
Styro foam
Spherical Foam
Electric Arc Proof Tape
Plastic Wings
Wire
Hot glue
Battery
Wooden Base
Wooden stick
Set-up
In this project we are creating a Handmade Drone, the
objective is to make it be able to fly. We choose to use a foam
to make the body and all the legs, because the weight is very
light. So it will not require too much energy to fly up. Also all the
legs, we design it to be able to stand steady by let it be a part of
the wings.
Trial 1 0 m. 1 (7 v) 5 sec.
Trial 2 0 m. 1 (7 v) 10 sec.
Analysis Of Data
For the first trial, the drone didnt fly.The reason is the way
of wing spinning were wrong. Four of the wings of the drone is
spinning in the same way which is clockwise. This make the
drone spinning around and not fly. So, the solution is changes
the way of the wings spinning.
For the second trial, after making the changes of the
propellers. Found out that the one spinning counter clockwise
created the wind upward and not downward. The solution is to
change the propellers so that it could the wind in direction that
we wanted.
For the third trial, it flies but while it flow up one of the wing
has broke due to the stopper because it hit to hard. So, the
solution is wrapping something around the foam part of the
drone to make it stronger.
For the last trial, after making the changes of the
propellers. Found out that the one spinning counter clockwise
created the wind upward and not downward. The solution is to
change the propellers so that it could the wind in direction that
we wanted.
Conclusion
The energy from the battery was sent to the drone giving
powers to the motors. The electron was stopped by the switch
which act as a resistors in this case. After the motors were
powered, the propellers will spin. The wind have to lift up the
weight of the drone plus the gravitational force that is pulling
down. If the wind created were not enough the drone will not fly.
The energy that needed to transfer also needed to be enough
as well to make the motors spin fast enough. The structure of
the drone are also important due to that it should have light
weight it also have to be strong enough so that it doesnt break
when it reach the stopper at the top.
Recommendation
The wings of the drone need to spinning in the clockwise
and anti clockwise to push the wind down and fly up. Two of the
wings that opposite side each other need to spin with clockwise
and another two with anti clockwise.
