1st Semester, SY 2013-2014

Course Number : Mgt 102 Course Title : Human Behavior in Organization


Time Frame : 54 hours Credits : 3 units

I. VISION, MISSION, GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

A. PSU Vision

The Pangasinan State University envisions become the apex of academic excellence
that produces globally competitive and morally upright professionals in Pangasinan and the
Ilocos Region.

B. PSU Mission

The Pangasinan State University will promote better service in the professional and technical
training in the arts, sciences, humanities and technology and in the conduct of scientific
research and technological studies, and community services. (P.D. No. 1497)

C. Campus Mission

The College offers and provides professional training in the technological programs
designed to equip the students with technical knowledge and skills, initiative the conduct of
basic applied research in technology and package these programs for transfer in the community
to improve the quality of life of the people.

D. Campus Goals and Objectives

1. Promote quality and relevant education designed to fully exploit individual potentials
commensurate to the needs of the industry, economy and global competitiveness;
2. Evolve and design relevant and responsive science and technology-based curricular
programs that develop intellectual competence, civic and moral responsibility,
cultural integrity, economic acuity, and scientific perspective;
3. Enhance and strengthen faculty and staff capability building and development on a
continuing basis;
4. Protect and promote the welfare and interest of Faculty members and administrative
staff in terms of a continuing program for salary increments and other pecuniary
benefits, social welfare and tenure;
5. Expand the conduct of research that generate new perspectives and insights and
new technologies and posses appropriate to the needs and aspirations of a
developing society and those which the community enjoys distinctive and
comparative advantage;
6. Expand educational opportunities to poor but exceptionally talented students through
various scholarships grants and financial assistance;
7. Provide a conducive learning atmosphere through the provisions of various student
development services;
8. Expand and establish network of linkages with other institutions both public and
private to generate and complement resources support, intensify impact and
strengthen academe-industry relations; and
9. Develop, test, evaluate and rationalize institutional structures and management
systems and processes to enhance the efficiency, cost-effectiveness and responsive
of the colleges programs and projects.

E. BSBM Program Objectives

The Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Operations


Management program prepares the students for the competencies and skills needed as
managers in manufacturing and service-oriented businesses.

Specifically, the program aims to:

1. Equip the students with concepts, principles and the theories of Operations
Management
2. Prepare the students in organizing and managing activities in manufacturing and
service related businesses.
3. Develop in the students, competencies and skills as entrepreneurs and managers.
4. Prepare the students to pursue a teaching career and graduate studies in business.

II. COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The course will cover a study of Human Behavior in Business Organization. It also
includes up-to-date global and local behavioral group changes with different points and
time as a result of different work experiences.

III. COURSE OBJECTIVES:

A. General Objective:

At the end of the semester, the students must be able to prepare them face the
increasing challenges of modern world of work.

B. Specific Objectives:

At the end of the course the students are expected to:

1. Expose themselves to the latest concepts of human behavior irrespective of type of


occupation they hold in the future.
2. Prepare them in meeting the challenges of the business world.
3. Understand organizationally the relevant phenomena of motivation, work attitudes,
human relations, leadership and social responsibility.

IV. COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

2. Pass all written quizzes and Periodic Examinations (Mid-term and Final Exam.)
3. Active Participation in class discussion (Class Recitation)
