Combination stop and waste valves or cocks shall be installed underground


Reduced pressure principle backflow preventer Protects the water
piping system from back-pressure and back-siphonage
Plumbing fixture fitting with integral backflow protection shall comply with
ASME A112.18.1.
MATERIALS:
CPVC material not permitted for medical applications
PEX Piping & PEXALPEX not permitted for medical applications
PEX piping not adopted for medical and food applications
The use of copper tube for water piping shall have a weight of not less than
type L.
Type M copper tubing shall be used for water piping when piping is above
ground inside, or outside of a building structures

All cast-iron fittings used in potable water piping system and with sizes up to

Vales over 2 shall have cast-iron or brass bodies.
Gate or ball valves shall be a full-way type with working parts of non-
corrosive material
Mechanically formed tee fittings shall be made by brazing only
Female PVC screwed fittings for water piping shall be used with plastic male
fittings and plastic male threads only
Slip joints may be used only on the exposed fixture supply
No Shut-off valve shall be installed between the relief valve and the system
or in the drain line
Pressure relief valve shall be installed between any water heating device
connected to a separate storage tank, having valves between said heater and
tank
Vacuum relief valve shall be installed on the storage tank or heater
whenever the hot water storage tank or an indirect water heater is located at
an elevation above the fixture outlets in the hot water system
Zinc cotaing (galvanizing) shall not be allowed for protection of piping or
fittings
Joints shall not be installed in copper water piping
No building water supply piping shall be located in any lot other than the lot
that the building water piping is connected
Booster pump is connected to a water service or underground water pipe
Pressure gauge shall be installed between shutoff valve and the pump
The minimum size by the number of fixture units to be served by that branch
Maximum velocities in copper and copper alloy tube and fitting systems shall
be limited to 8 per second in cold water 5 fps in hot water
