The Lead QC Incoming Inspector has the primary responsibility of overseeing the incoming inspection office and activities related to
raw material inspection. Receiving and inspecting incoming raw materials and printed materials for quality and determining the
disposition of material. Participation in the creation and maintenance of purchase specification and inspection plans via Engineering
Change Order process.
Inspect all incoming materials for quality and release to inventory using electronic inventory
system.
Conduct raw chemical inspections including lab batch formulations and complete testing to
adjust manufacturing formulation records.
Use electronic documentation system to update released documentation
Review test records for completeness and accuracy
Conduct specialty testing when required
Conduct printed material inspection for specification compliance
Use of various incoming inspection tools per SOPs
Document all non-conforming materials
Follow all Purchase Specification Requirements
Assist in the generation of new purchase specifications
Operate Laboratory Instrumentation as part of incoming testing
File all Incoming Inspection History records and archiving records as required
Fill out associated documentation and ensure all procedures are followed
Track First Article samples

III. General
The Lead QC Incoming Inspector must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in a science field and 5
years of experience as an incoming inspector in a GMP facility. Must have experience formulating and
testing lab batches. Must be capable of data analysis to determine formulation adjustments. Must
have experience using an electronic inventory system. Experience with an electronic documentation
system is helpful. Excellent reading, proofreading, math and grammar skills are needed. This individual
must be computer literate, meticulous in his/her attention to detail and have the ability to meet
schedule deadlines. This position also requires a good attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and the
ability to interface with internal departments, suppliers and customers. The Lead inspector must be
flexible with work hours and be available during off hours and weekends as needed.
